BTW, your replies were confusing. I still don't know what you actually have or are missing besides the EV button.

I suspect you got a '12 Prius One. With the '12, there were changes to all the Two thru Five trim levels (Exclusive: 2012 MY Prius - Changes and Additions | PriusChat, the info there is wrong about the '12 Prius Two having a backup camera, it doesn't) compared to model year 2011, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were changes to the One. I don't think we ever got a list of the missing stuff on the '12 Prius One.

If you ended up getting a Prius One, I sure hope you didn't pay Prius Two or above prices.

The brochure at http://www.toyotacertified.com/ebrochures/12_prius.pdf can also help you determine what you're missing from a '12 Prius Two, if anything else.

I paid 21k. Looks to be an upgraded One, I'm fine with the price for what I got.

:)Best to check your paperwork and see how it's listed. If it's a Model Two, return to the closest dealer and let them figure it out, and make it right. That's what dealers do, with a little prodding.

How did you determine it's a "upgraded" one? What's a upgraded one?

21k I bet you got an upgraded 1. No big deal, you like the price, the car, the mpg. Who even uses the EV button? Just drive the car and enjoy the $ at your next fill up!

I edited my first post to Prius One to avoid confusion but I can't change the title unfortunately.

    So...

Anybody got pics of where or what wires the EV button connects to?

My thoughts are that you purchased a fleet vehicle. I actually looked at some of them around here in the Phoenix area, a dealership in Tempe had a dozen very low mileage ones at very reasonable prices. I was actually planning on buying one from them but I got one at a dealership closer to my home. I don't remember the level of options though, but the price was definitely less than many others I've seen online and in person with such low miles.

And the Prius One was intended to be fleet only.

It'd be interesting if there's been a change in the included equipment on a '12+ Prius One from what Prius Team posted before the '12 model year since all the other trims got changes.

That is a very good possibility. Perhaps the 2o12 Prius One added the rear wiper, cruise control and SKS as standard.

May be worth a shot at asking the dealer for options of adding EV button. The thing is, it's fun to play around with initially, but its short range kills the fun very quickly. I live in Phoenix with large roads with high speed limits so it's practically useless to me. I played with it for a short while and haven't touched it since.

I do realize the EV button wouldn't add a whole lot of function to the car. It would be handy though sometimes when I don't want the engine running or trying to warm up for very short run times less than a minute.

Problem is, the car may deny you entry into EV mode. I haven't played w/EV mode much on Gen 3 Prius since I don't have one but did experiment with it a bunch on a Lexus HS I won a week test drive of.

Yep, my '11 was very fickle about when EV would work or not.

Not sure if Op is in a colder climate, but here in Arizona right now with lows in the 40s and highes in the 60s, as long as the car is warm (driven for about 5 minutes or so), I can get into full EV mode, meaning I can use it until it cuts me off at 25 mph without any other issues.

I am not sure I got my Two for 24k (list is 24.2k) with some options which I refused to pay like mats 299, decal 69 and cargo net not sure ... but almost 600 I told the dealer I do not want any of it take it out either form the car or the price. They did even waive the "documentation fee" whatever that is. I think that is a gimmick they usually do.

And the car had 6 miles on the odometer ... 21k with 4k miles especially a loner not sure if that is good deal ... if you plan to keep the car long term the first 5k miles is important ... how it was driven (usually loaners are not treated too well)

for that it will not work even if your HV battery has high SOC... you can not go for a minute after turn on the car unless you just stopped and the engine is still warm enough ...

The car will start the engine and go through the warm up.
