No backup camera, no Homelink mirror, no mud guards,no receptacle outlet like most cars, no center roof light, no wiring for fog lights for PC1&2 from stalk (even wiring is existing from FG housing), no mic adapter plug for aftermarket head units (something similar to the axess USB/3.5 mic), no Wheathertech vent visor.

I don't like the insufficient lighting for the rear seats (ie. there is none at all) and there being no proper dead pedal, just bare carpet.

There is also insufficient enclosed storage locations.

    Mudflaps wouldn't go astray.

The only thing I don't like are the oversized rear headrests.

No lights on the vanity mirrors. Can't read GPS in broad daylight and cannot update the map without breaking arms & legs. No windshield fuild filter. No engine coolant temperature indicator light/gauage. Rear bumper protect guard is an option for a $30K car?? Wind noise needs to be fixed.

Here is my list of don't likes and can be improved on PC:
    1. By far my biggest problem is with 'empty gas tank' indication. It beeps once ( should be beeping at every car start )
and blinks with the same green color as whole fuel level indicator (the color MUST be yellow as it is warning indicator). So it is lost in all other blinking tons of info in PC dash. About month ago I ran out of gas fist time in my 20+ years of a car driving.
    2. missing dead pedal padding
    3. Oversize back headrests. Maybe they sized for safety, but result is opposite.
They really block back visibility and a lot of people ( including myself) dismount them and store them away.

I still love my PC, as there are much more to like then hate about this car.

As for the struggle, it's faster than my old 2001 Saturn SC2.

More and more I'm beginning to understand why Toyota says the "C" stands for "City". This is a great car for travelling 60km/h or less, driving in mostly mild weather, and in generally flat areas. Optimal trip distance is 20km and above. It excels at this type of usage. Most of my complaints are with performance outside of driving around slowly in a city:

    1) Cabin noise at speed - I complained about this before. Now I don't think it's as big of a deal since I was carted around in a friend's cushy Touareg a couple weekends ago, and was surprised at how noisy that vehicle was on the freeway. I still wish the C's cabin noise at freeway speed was a bit closer to the superb acoustics at downtown speeds. Toyota's probably going to improve the insulation with every refresh of the C. Right now, going too far would probably add too much cost and weight, and this is already an expensive car for its class. I'm looking forward to see what they do in the future though.

    2) Lack of power at speeds higher than 50km/h - I've complained about this on Prius Chat before ... Since writing that post I've had a few more experiences, especially in high speed traffic, that have reaffirmed my position. This car needs more torque at high speeds. It's peppy around town, but if your commute involves a lot of freeway time, you may wish to look at one of the more powerful Prius models. I'm guessing this won't be fixed until the next major powertrain update, since there are some practical limits that can't easily be addressed at the moment without making sacrifices (that said, given how ridiculously easy it is to get 65 to 80mpg in this car on a regular basis in warm weather, you'd think Toyota would have some breathing room to give us some more power... hmmm).

    3) Center-biased dashboard - I'd love to meet the driver who actually likes cars that do this (Mini is another good example). This wasn't as big of a deal to me at first, but the more I drive the C, the more I wish that all the relevant displays were directly in front of the driver. The biasing of the display towards the center of the dash reeks heavily of some kind of attempt at cost-cutting.

The main thing that worries me about it is having to look away from my line of attention to get an idea of where I am on the ECO meter. Here's hoping one day all Cs come with a HUD!

My biggest complaint is the passenger air bag indicator is a big orange glowing light all the time, indicating ON or OFF. When I get time I'm going to take the dash apart and black it out.

    "EV Mode Not Available..."
    "EV Mode Deactivated..."
    Passenger air bag indicators
Inability to operate navigation while in motion (how about enabling when there is a passenger?)
    Big ol' rear headrests
    unavailability of mud guard/flaps
lack of a button to open hatch release from the driver’s seat

The above are mostly nits, I really like the car and am jealous of my wife because she gets to drive it a lot more than me. Gas went to $3.90 yesterday. I hate when it jumps 25 or 30 cents in a day, but I take solace in the knowledge that the higher it goes, the more I save.

Wind noise at ~100km/h is really bad for a $30k car as compared to my previous Nissan Sentra 83, Honda Civic 85, Honda Accord 90, and Toyota Echo 2005.

To be honest, I love everything about my 2012 Prius c.
