Mine was cut @ 3 months, and my wife's ford cut off @ her 6. And hers was cut off at 5:08 pm. We had it on driving down the freeway and it cut out. So they had it to the minute. (we did purchase it later in the day)

I had it for free for 13 months on my '11, until I traded it in on the PIP.

I only got three months free, actually I just canceled the service yesterday before it renews because they wouldn't budge from the $20 per month charge for XM premier. So, shhhhh.

And just a reminder, the XM subscription for the data service on the Advanced (like the traffic info) is a completely unrelated subscription that is actually held by Toyota Entune, not the car owner. When it comes up for renewal in three years, that will be done through Toyota, not Sirius/XM. I found this out the hard way when talking with Sirius/XM customer support, and they were adamant that there was no such thing as a three-year complimentary data subscription, and implied that I was part of some kind of fraudulent scheme. They had no idea that the data service was a separate subscription with another party, and that is why it did not show up on my account.

Mine cut off after less than two months. Not that I care. The audio quality was horrible.

Is the sat radio part of this 3 year Advanced subscription? My sat radio worked all last season (6 months) then I put my car in winter storage.

No, the audio portion is not 3 years, only the XM Data sub is 3 years.

Because not eveyrone's always gets turned off after 3 months, even though it should. That's why at the beginning of the thread me and someone else said "Shhhh" to the OP.

We didn't even know we had it at first. Then stumbled onto it, listened for free for about a month at most before it was cut off, then signed up for a year. I emphatically told them at time of sign up I did not want to auto-renewed. Yeah right...

Anyway, long story short, thanks in large part to having changed credit card numbers during that year, it only took a 5 minute phone battle with their VERY persistant telemarketers (erh, sales reps) to disengage from the buggers.

And, while the quality of sound was ok, we soon got into the satellite radio game: singing through the gaps, which occur everytime you pass a high rise, tree, bump, whatever ;)

So not all the cars with entune use the XM data service for traffic etc. My C uses my cellular data for traffic.

Yep, their reps are tenacious and persistent, even after you have cancelled. I finally blocked their number on my phone. The other thing was that if you selected the menu option "cancel service" they put you on hold for about twenty minutes before you could get someone to help. IMHO, a terrible business model for attracting and retaining customers.

Called to renew my wifes on her 2011 Level 4. Got some deal that was like 34$ a year. I asked them when the subscription on my Plug in Advanced Tech would expire and they guy said 3 years. I said thanks and hung up. It's been about 11 months sice i got the car and the subscription is still running strong and i havent paid a penny.

Maybe the dealer pre-paid the XM for a year. My XM cut off at 90 days but my wifes Acura car was 1 year. She logged in on the XM website and she was paid up for 1 year on Select.
