Here's an interesting one - can I change the heater temperature?

bedrock, I explained the same thing in post #3 but he's saying that isn't the issue.

After some testing I actually got the 65 setting to be very nice. I'm going to measure the heat today doing the same procedure; no AC on, just vent air. Crack the back window. Run the fan on low+1, and measure the air at the outlet in the center of the car. Then run the fan at full for about 5 minutes. After this back to low+1. Measure again. A sequence like this works the last 2 days but it takes some playing around to get it. Once set, 65 is a great temp. I'll report back soon. I have seen a dramatic change in warm air coming from the vents doing the above procedure - at the same 65 setting. Not sure why yet.

I've been playing with my heat setting these last few days. As always, if I just get in the car and turn on the fan (no A/C) and set the temp for 66, the air comes out much warmer than 66. I thought this was a function of the outside air being much lower than 66, perhaps 40 or cooler. If I compare 66 to 40, or 30, it's clearly warmer by 20-30 degrees and should feel much warmer - but it seems to be 'hot', not just warm. This has always been the case and the reason for me starting this thread. Now, I can get the air to come out much closer to 66 degrees, but I'm not sure how.. I do a series of things, fan on high for 3-4-5 minutes, back window a little open, A/C on then off, then fan back down to low or +1 and the air coming out of the vents is much closer to 66 - or much cooler than the normal 66 detting. I'm not sure what causes the temp to be much warmer than 66 when I start, but at least through some playing around I can get it somewhat close.
