It is very neat to see hybrid technology being implemented to accomplish objectives that are not primarily grounded in the quest for improved fuel mileage. This is definitely a testament to its flexibility and I think indicative of its untapped potential.

Did you read the article? The function is almost identical to the Prius hybrid system. Now if they could make them as reliable as the toyotas I might just consider buying another one.

I read the article and while the function is very similar to the Prius, it seemed to me the hybrid system was incorporated to provide a foundation that would allow the engine to be optimized for acceleration and speed over any other attribute. It’s quite likely there is a fuel economy benefit as well, but I didn’t get the impression that was one of the primary purposes underlying the technology’s implementation.

I'm very much looking forward to reading the reviews on this one.

Well, when was Ferrari ever interested in building an econobox anyways. I don' think that's in their Corporate guideline. Their focus is to build the fastest car in the world, reliability and ergonomics 2ndary.

    Sweet looking car.

Doesn't the new Acura NSX supercar have electric motors on the front wheels?

This thread makes me want to drive to Vegas and go to that "drive an exotic" track that I always see ads for in my car mags. :)
