    Hey guys,

I just got the Prius C (2012, 2) last Saturday. I am looking to MOD! Basically I want to change the grey dash to black (didn't know that it came standard on the 2013 models), change out the headlights and overall lighting, de-bagging, get a shark fin, and maybe blackout the grey door panels.

... I think I am just overly excited. I did no mods on my last car that I had. I've been checking out this forum tonight. Apparently you can also do some noise insulation!?

What Mods have been helpful to you guys? What would you recommend? :)

The only MOD you want is your drinking habit.

Hm, I think I have decided what I am going to do.

    1. Debadging (already did most of this on the back, pretty simple)
    IMG_20130319_203147.JPG

    2. Internal overhead LED lights (will get these tomorrow)
    3. Led headlights (have to look into these).
    4. Shark Fin...why is it so expensive?
    5. Change the internal grey dash parts, Internal, 5 and 6, to black
    http://www.trademotion.com/parts/2012/TOYOTA/PRIUS C/?siteid=214631&vehicleid=1503732&diagram=8548255
    6. Paint the inside grey door frame parts black. Anyone have any advice on this?
    7. Add FatMat or some other damping sound materials to the doors.

Any and ALL advice is welcomed.

I'd like to get a shark fin too. Main reason I don't mod things worried about warranty and that I would break something...

It took 2.5 cans of the SEM black plastic/vinyl flexible paint to do the inside grey panels & blue plastic strip around the dash shelf. I wasnt going to remove everything like they all the youtube video's show so I just papered and masked everything around them, wore a resperator mask and those vinyl disposable gloves and gave it 4-5 light coats 6-10 mis apart and voila! It will gas you out for a few days so its advised that you air it out and drive with the windows open for a while if you dont want to get high that is. Looks awesome you cant tell at all. I might spray a clear over just to be sure to avoud scratches in the future. I did all this BEFORE my seat covers & window tint

you know what might be an alternative if you want to spend a bit more than the $50 in items needed for the painting....the window tint places do wraping and it comes in all different colors even carbon fiber. It looks great I saw an entire car exterior in it but they can wrap anything pretty much. I might let them wrap the interior piece around the floor shifter because the paint does not seem to adhear well to that one item. It seems like it is a different type of plastic or has a coating that might have needed a primer first.

    Update:

Started on the back doors today (with them still on). Im using Rust-Oleum Camouflage flat black as a primer for the first coat . The one thing you have to watch out for when painting while the door is on --- gravity. I had a flat paint brush I used for the edges. This is just the primer, I will see how it looks tomorrow when it fully dries.

I am dying the grey parts of the seat black. Here is the first coat.

Finally, here are the hubcaps. Using the same stuff I used on the doors for the first coat.

The temperature dropped about 20 degrees (to the upper 40s) so I am hesitantsitant about painting the doors for the next few days. You can tell the paint did run some with the base, but it still looks decent. The seats look great though. I just put the last coat on them. Will post photos later.

It was a hard decision. But I really liked the all black interior of my last car. So much so, that I was willing to do this. :)

Sorry about the horrible lighting conditions, but you can tell the color has matched well. I will go over them one final time to eliminate any imperfections.

Ok, here is the MOSTLY finished project. Took about three hours today. All I have to do now is clean up around some of the edges, remove some paint bleed, and perhaps add one final gloss coat to the doors.

Ok, here are my latest updates I am mostly done now. I replaced the DTRLs and Headlights with the following bulbs. I just wanted a cleaner light and didn't want to deal with the HIDs. All of the light is 4000 Kelvin and matches nicely. Came out to be $70 even for all of them from Amazon.

    IMG_20130402_231940.jpg IMG_20130402_231944.jpg IMG_20130402_232000_1.jpg IMG_20130402_231913.jpg IMG_20130402_231932.jpg

    1. Philips 129644000KX2 XtremeVision 12V T10 LED Interior/Exterior Retrofit Bulb, (Pack of 2)
    2. Philips H11 CrystalVision Ultra Headlight Bulb, Pack of 2
    3. Philips 9005 CrystalVision Ultra Headlight Bulbs (High-Beam) (1 Pair)

I might replace the license plate bulb, find lower head rests in the backseat, add side molding, add the shark fin, and do the FatMatting (in that order). I have to re-do the back passenger side door and perhaps the passenger side door, as they did not come out as even as the other ones up top. The final gloss on the doors gave it more of a shine then I wanted to, but it locked in the paint job and I have not had any problem with it at all. Looks quite nice.
