A Dunkin Donuts run for a "poison coffee" is a morning routine in the Prius... easy to order and hear through the loudspeaker versus the diesel. My friend and I were noting that on the roads we traveled on this past weekend, every 5th car on average is a Toyota and Prii are increasing as well... we lost track of how many we counted and the different colors (including a Black Cherry Pearl:love: ) and we were on rural and state roads.

Yesterday morning a Honda salesperson was greeting folks at the drive through window, even purchasing their coffee for them at the DD I frequent, while handing out Honda flyers and decks of Honda playing cards at the drive through window.

Unfortunately for him I drank way too much Prius "Kool Aid". I told him I will pay it forward but my own Prius is new.;)

They are going to be everywhere soon... It's already like this in LA.

LOL. about the diesel. I take my Superduty diesel at the drive thru window. I have to shut the engine off. If I don't, they will screw up my order.

I go to a walk-in donut shop every morning. Lately a guy with a big Ford diesel has taken to backing in right in front of the door, then leaving his truck idling while he gets his coffee and donuts. Customers have asked him to turn it off or park elsewhere, but he seems to think it's funny. Says he would rather smell diesel than gasoline any day. Well, he's asphixiating those of us sitting in the donut shop while he enjoys the smell. Apparently the fans running in the cooking area of the shop draw the fumes in through the door and a window above it. I've got nothing against diesels; used to own one.

Southern California is really a Prius heaven. After lunch at BJ's my wife and I found this other white Prius plug in model parked right across from our Prius.

Yesterday I found myself behind another Prius v and with a Leaf behind me on a suburban road here in mid-TN, which is still very much SUV country. There are definitely many more Prii on the road now than when I bought my first one. My husband and I were astonished by the number of Hummers on the road when we first moved to this area. Now I am amazed at the number of hybrids.

Traveling on the NYS Thruway diesels are not supposed to idle.

Mine is for hauling horses and grain although the Prius has stepped in and hauled grain when I was too lazy and cheap to fill the truck up...;)

I had to shut mine off in upstate NY as they could not hear me. Here in CT the speaker is positioned so they can hear me over the truck.:D Kind of funny that the Prius is so quiet and shuts itself off while waiting....

It has become a game when my friend and I are on the road... he was disappointed he did not catch the Black Cherry Pearl or the cobalt blue ones I saw... but he needed to keep his eyes on the road.

Just a matter of time before he takes a swig of the Kool Aid....;)

    N. Va is getting full of them too. Another reason I'd like to modify mine, to be just a little different. On rt 7 last week, I was rolling behind another silver Gen III with a silver Gen II next us and a BP behind that! I couldn't photo but it was pretty cool.

Some municipalities are even using Prii for Code and Traffic inforcement. I wouldn't be surprised that one day you might see Prius Police units at the Duncan Donuts. At least that's the most likely place.

The bigger the city, the more Prii you see.

I'm going up to the UP on Monday, I don't see them at all up there. But I go down to Chicago and they're all over the place.
