In February I went to my Toyota dealer of choice, Mark Motors in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to put an order in for a 2004 Prius.

They were taking orders for the 2005 models, but 2004 models were not available. I put $500.00 down and ordered one but have no colors yet to select from

    Request:

I love the Solar yellow introduced for the 2004 Matrix.

2005 needs some jazzed up colors.... get away from the conservative beige, silver, white. Market to women who buy a car for the color!

Men want the engine details, women look at it too, but men realize it is the colors that are really the magnets for the estrogen section of the population.

Prius could have both sexes of the potential consumers.................Colors tell a lot about the personalities of people.

It tells about those that have.......

A nurturing for the environment because of technology used and their color choices translate into a caring for life, safety and society. Why should the tree huggers be considered the prudes, and boring sect of the society.

Yellow and lime greens are most easily seen, and why ER vehicles use them. Sun Light is yellow and happy, life giving. Check out the Matrix and Spider solar yellow. Or soften the yellow to be a lighter more gentle yellow.

A soft sky or robin's egg blue is nurturing. A turquoise symbolizes the rich relaxing environment of the Caribbean waters and Hawaiian Surf. Leave your tension at the office when you leave and get into your Prius.

Get rid of the Salsa red, leave it for the hot and fast powerful pick-ups and SUV's and statistically more tickets are given to the red car drivers.

Try the color of Coral, a life form that has been present , growing ans self sustaining for centuries until man's impact and invasion began to affect it. Try a lime green or other beautiful green color, symbolic of new growth.

Get rid of the Tideland Pearl so reminiscent of pseudomonas bacterial growth and snotty nosed kids.

I'm sick of silver, beige and black and white.

White is even considered dangerous in the long dreary winters of the Northern and Midwest parts of the US.

Do you know how hard it to know if there is a white car in front of you in the middle of a snow storm?

I have been rear ended twice on snowy roads because they didn't know I was there with my white Previa. And I no longer feel safe passing cars on two lane roads in winter, other cars can't see me coming down the road. They should call white winter camouflage.

I'd love to be on a Toyota marketing and planning consumers committee. Does anyone know who in the corporation this can be passed onto for consideration?

I'm beginning to realize why out of the 75% of the college enrollment who are females, so many have GM's in the lots. When asked,

    They loved the colors!

Toyota, leave the conservative black, white beige, silver for other countries of the world. The US needs to be reminded and awakened to their senses of the wonders of nature and the diversity of color and life. Market to the women.

Take the lesson from your solar yellow of the Matrix and Spider.......those cars were snapped up in short order.

More Prius' need to be on the road. Our environment needs them.

    Thanks pal.
You deserve to be eligible to special Toyota "Individual Design" program and consequently to buy Prius of any color you like (as soon as it's Toyota color). It'll cost you just $3000 extra and take additional 6 month to make.

P.S. Sorry, there are no vacancies on Toyota marketing and planning committee currently. Moreover, this committee doesn't exist...

Dooh, I happen to be a huge fan of the Tideland color. It's received quite a few compliments from those who have seen it in person.

I'd hate to see it go the way of Blue Moon Pearl that I had on my '02 (Exclusive to that year, was replaced with Black in 2003)

the only way i would want salsa to go away is if they replaced it with a true candy apple red metalflake. otherwise, leave my salsa alone or i will have manny pull out your toenails!

I do like my salsa red...although I call it Merlot.

htmlspinnr....was the Blue Moon Pearl the one that looked like Lavender? I actually liked the Lavender colored one.

I second htmlspinnr's love of the Tideland color. And in fact, I like just about all of the Prius colors, with the exception of the Super-White.

I think the "Pearl" colors are particularly good -- I enjoy how they change color in different lighting. Also, the Salsa Red is about the only red car color that I've liked on a car in years.

So, call me an old fuddy-duddy, but I think Toyota's done a great job with colors.

Besides, doesn't an "environmentally-themed" color basically boil down to the color of COMPOST

(Or, as we call it out in the garden, sh**-brown.)

OK by me to ADD more colors, but I love my salsa red and also tideland would be my second choice.

If I could add a color, I would add a copper metallic.

    Sooo sexist!!!! :guns:
Trust me there are a lot of women who don't just buy by color and I'm one of them. Besides I've been around on this board long enough to know that men are just as picky about the color of their car. Why not get the color you want when you are buying a new car?

I LOVE my tideland. Also black and tide appear to be the most popular colors. I personally wouldnt want to see this car in bright colors. I think it would take away from it.
And keep in mind...yes more prii need to be on the roads, but since some dealers are saying the wait is 2 years long it really doesnt matter what colors there are, there aren't enough cars to go around in the first place

You're not gonna get many converts here. I love my salsa. It was initially my last choice because I imagined it to be sporty. But it's a very "mature" red for lack of a better term. The Prius is a car of the future. As such, it would like a silly kid car if slapped with a silly kid color. Not so much with the metallicy colors it has now.

Yep, it was the "lavender" looking one. They called it Blue for whatever reason though.

Electric Blue and Texas Tea might be a new color combo for the two-tone crowd.
