I have the upgraded factory Stereo system, and I'm just saying that it's sounds OK, but if you are a true Audio Enthusiest than upgrading may be in order. Others can chime in but something is lacking maybe a sub can do the trick

The test angle I took was straight on. If I lower it, it will be about 1.2" lower but I won't approach it at this angle.

Persona doesn't have JBL. See online brochure. As I noted, you're not missing much and would be upset if I had to pay for that option.

My salesman said that the Persona does not have the JBL "audio system" but does have "JBL speakers"... that might be bs too. The sound seemed good and I signed on the dotted line this morning. My 2010 III had the JBL package and I am surprised the Persona doesn't.

Hmm...I don't trust the online brochure. That thing also says it has an 8-way automatic adjustable driver's seat, which it doesn't.

My salesman said JBL speakers, too...I won't feel AS duped if that is true. It is strange, though, that they used to offer it in their III's.

Same logic as sunroof not being offered on a trim 5.

    SFcyclist,
Congrats on your purchase! I have a Black Cherry one since January 14th. You can see by my forum signature that I use Fuelly to track mileage. I found that mileage does indeed increase after the break in period. Also, my wife's work drive is more level than mine, and she gets better mileage when she drives the car. I also slightly overinflated the tires after the first two tanks.

I have a question for you, about the bicycle mount. It looks like for some reason you have to install an actual trailer hitch, then buy a bicycle mount that attaches to the trailer hitch. Doesn't anyone make a Prius specific bicycle mount that doesn't require a trailer hitch installation first?

    Rt,

There are plenty of bike racks that attach without hitch receiver but I don't trust any of them. They are either not secure or can easily damage finish on car or bike. The receiver style is the most secure style without touching any painted surface. Then in regards to choices racks, receiver models are the most secure.

    I didn't get into ease of installation/removal.

Just curious what makes you state this... Everything else I've seen posted on this board and from other news articles/blogs says it will be 2015 or 16 before Gen4

Just got tint done. 35% sides, 20% front and rear. Highly recommended. Keeps the interior cooler, reduced glares and comfort. I should need the AC less.

Here some pics to show how it looks. The 2nd "after" photo makes it look darker than it is.

Thanks to mnml for the tips!

Tint looks really good! I would love to get that done, unfortunately it has ticket written all over it in VA...

Nice pics by the way, one directly in front of a Hummer and another directly in front of a no parking sign!

"No parking sign" is my private spot... ;)

if you are concerned about fix it tickets, get the ceramic tints. 70% is like clear yet efficient as 20% tint in rejecting heat.

The Hummer is no joke.. 30" wheels!

Why did you choose the curt hitch over draw-tite and hidden hitch? I have a hitch mounted bike rack so I need to install one of the hitches mentioned.

I just picked up the same car as you and got it tinted 50 percent all around. I like the uniform look.

I have a Persona, too, and am curious about this. The sound system does sound better than the one in our 2012 2. The speakers aren't branded with a JBL badge, however. Maybe the different head unit makes the difference.

I like the round tubes on the Curt hitch.

Due to the angle and how light projects, a darker tint often times looks the same on rear window. Also unless you got ceramic, a darker tint is more effective. The front and rear windows are where most of the heat is transmitted into the car.
