I'm trying to lower the rear part of the headliner so I can replace a broken antenna base. I've read the detailed photo instructions posted on this site. I've been able to dislodge all of the parts covering the rear section of the headliner, including the dome light, but I can't get enough clearance unless I also remove the two rear grip assists. I'm flummoxed trying to remove the grip covers and sub-assembly. The official instructions are confusing, and the dealer tech could not explain it in a way I could understand. See attached diagrams. I can't figure out how to use the screwdriver to release the grip covers. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Never mind. I figured it out. The instructions are wrong. You have to pry the cover at the bottom (I used a thin beveled chisel) until it creates a gap on the sides, then simultaneously pry the sides open like a butterfly wing and pull the cover off. With the cover off, you can squeeze the internal retaining clip and the handle pops offs. The two little gaps on the sides and top are not helpful at all in removing the handle and just confuse the issue. This is for a 2008 Gen II Prius.
