I bought the cheap set off of eBay that were recommend here by another Prius Chat member. After 10 months they started to flicker. Replaced them and put the original bulbs back in. Tired of all this LED crap.

True... I'm betting that the price reflects the brightness and quality...so maybe later I'll take the plunge. For now I'll happy with my super bright led interior lights.

This is EXACTLY why GOOD LEDs cost! I know it's nice to save money, but spending wisely matters more!

good point, however if you realy think about it, led's are not hat wise of a buy in the first place especialy the ones that cost, don't get me wrong I love the IDEEA I think it fits the prius better all arround, I just had a look at your thread, good work by the way, I'd also like to have something other than led acid for an auxiliary 12v but its not that feasable, not yet at least. guess I'm just bummed that the good stuff is ourageus, its a novelty thing, also if you realy take everything into acount like 50k hours rated, not sure how many incandescents youd go throu, or priuses for that matter

Wow the Sencart panels are cheaper ... too bad I didn't hear about them sooner.

So I made a couple of videos about getting the back hatch off. A lot of people refer to the video of the guy in his dark garage blasting Metallica (IIRC). They are both a bit redunant ... I'm no Youtube video expert. I do think that they show how the panel is ACTUALLY removed.

Anyone have some LED recommendations for the door lights?

Pretty sure if you pick up some T10 168 White 5050 SMD leds or larger...You shouldn't be dissatisfied with the brightness.

Been a while but pretty sure I used something like this...not same brand but similar. They were perfect because they were directional. Not shooting light where I didn't want it...but only on the ground where I need it.

Remember that light can and is reflected. When you can only aim X amount of LEDs in the direction you want due to size/placement restrictions you can still increase usable brightness by using additional LEDs to light up the housing ... especially if it is a reflector.

However in this case the LEDs he posted are certainly a better choice as you are getting more pointed in the direction you desire and the housing in the door is not a reflecting type.

However I think even better results can be had with SMD panel type lighting. Get out your micrometer and see if this will fit! (A better deal can be had from the supplier that a previous poster mentioned but I just wanted to put the idea out there in the short amount of time I had to write this post)

The 3x4 LED arrangement just seems a bit large to fit in the truck light enclosure.
