Warning about folding the back seats down

I unthread the shoulder belts from the guides on the seatbacks before folding. This keeps the outside belts clear of the folding seat. Was your problem caused by the center seatbelt?

 

I had this happen on my previous Prius and it did fully recover but I can't remember how long it took

 

same with child car seats..

 

Carefully use a heat gun to restore

 

Is your Softex or leather? As Softex debut was in 2012. I notice my Softex is quite elastic.. much more so than leather.

 

Interesting. I'm often putting my rear seats down (& often leave them there). I'll have to watch for this.

 

When you say "seat belt clip" are you talking about the part that fastens into the buckle, or the part that holds the belt in place against the seat? I was looking at my back seat, I see how the former could happen, but not the latter?

 

The point was anything remotely pointy can dig into the seats. When its for an extended prriod, it maybe permanent. Belt or buckles angled can do like though more likely the belt. Car seats as well thus all the different projectors they sell.

Is the mark in a place that your body would touch if you sat in the seat ?? 10 minutes of your weight and body heat may give 100% recovery.

 

Hair Dryer or Heat Gun for quick fix, but not to hot.

 

I need to look at my rear driver's side as well, I had the exact same thing happen when I was picking up some stuff at Home Depot.
I was pissed as well that such a big dent was in my seat and no one had ever sat in that seat before.
I just haven't bothered to look at it again because I didn't want to be pissed again, it hopefully has restored itself.
I will have to look after work now and report back how well it restored itself.

 

I used to do this, on my first Prius. But when returning the seats to the upright position, sometimes I'd forget to hold the belt away from the latch mechanism, allowing the belt to get caught and chewed up. Other people always forgot, chewing up the belt even more.

So on the new Prius, the belts remain in the guides. The cloth seats recover from buckle indents just fine.

 

My buckle indent is gone from my seat, so it did recover and it did look pretty bad when I first lifted the seat back up.
