I totally posted in the wrong forum section, rookie mistake...

    Anyways...

    Hi all,

I am a newbie to these forums. I am looking at 2010 Prius IV's with the Solar Roof & Sunroof option, and I wanted to get a Thule Roof Rack & Fairing for the Prius when I get it. But I was wondering about these two things:

1.) How much did it effect your MPG?
2.) Could I have a fully functional sunroof with the crossbars and fairing installed? Or would I run into any problems?

Thanks all and looking forward to getting my prius soon
    !

I have the Yakima set-up and put them on my Prius every once in a while. Not sure which Thule set-up you are getting, so you may have a different experience... However, here's what I can tell you about my set-up so you can have some reference:
    1. Mileage dropped about 4-6 MPGs, even with the fairing in place. You can definitely feel the drag and hear the buffeting. Small price to pay for extra utility?
    2. I still have the ability to tilt open the sunroof. It looks like the sunroof could partially open if I have nothing mounted to the bars, but I haven't tried (and I don't know how different the Thule set-up is compared to the Yakima).

    Hope that helps.
