Going to pick up our new 2013 Prius V (basic model) tomorrow. Looking for any words of wisdom for the first few months of driving. Do's and Don'ts so to speak. I figure asking those who have gone before will make our ownership even better.

Vary the car's speed, and load on the engine. Avoid hard acceleration for a while. (days, not months)
Learn your mirrors, instruments, blind spots.

Have fun, do not stress over mileage for a tank or two.

There is a cup holder under the cup holder you first see in the console.

Thanx for the quick response. When you say vary speed, I assume you mean don't use cruise control for a few days and intentionally run the speed up and down?

If you live in a hilly area, just going up and down hill will vary the speeds of all the complements, I live in the Mississippi delta so I can drive 150 miles and not vary altitude by 100 feet. For me, I need to vary the speed as I have no up or downs.

The engine has no set RPM at any one speed, wind, rain, hills, even temperature will vary engine speed.

Thanx for the replies. Another question I have is about inverters. I had one in the older car and it was handy. What experiences have you had with them in the V?
