From Automotive Retailing: State by State, CA itself accounts for over 11% of "Total sales of all new vehicle dealerships in the United States". From California QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau, CA accounts for about 12% of the total US population.

I would make that trip if someone out there could help me rebuild my HV pack, were installing inexpensive rebuilt packs and/or plug-in kits.

 

Wish I could go so badly. I'm near Cleveland, Ohio....maybe we could have a Chicago (midwest) event someday?

 

Maybe alternating west coast, a midwest and east coast events, or something?

 

This is wonderful. It is a long drive from the SF bay area, but I'll definitely think about it. Does someone wants to carpool?

It was so not fair putting my photo on that email... with Pat. Gosh I miss Pat.

 

I can hardly wait! We'll fly into Ontario from Kansas. With friends close to Riverside it was easy to convince my non-Prius-driving-husband to fly with me and visit them while I do Priusy things. I just hope I can rent a Prius while we are there. Thanks for organizing this.

I think you have a paranoia about flying. you drove to PCD Detroit too!

 

But I made money driving to/from PCD.....mileage allowance.

With TGB4 I'm picking up about 6 national parks on my bucket list before/after the event.

 

Well, technically I made money too and would have been able to take it home with me had I stayed out of the souvenir shops!

 

I'll bring my ramps and do as many as I can Friday and Saturday. You just have to sell some of those EBH's.

I see a couple going from Chicago, one driving the other flying. A car pooling thread would be a great resourse in this forum. I thoroughly enjoyed getting a lift with FireEngineer to PCD in 2009. I would have asked to share the driving but driving for the first time on the wrong side of the road, in heavy snow, in someone elses car, on freeways where large trucks were sliding into the ditch, I gave it a miss. I can't thank FireEngineer and his family enough and the experience was amazing.

Still looking forward to seeing everyone if that can be arranged in 2017. Danny, please Please PLEASE make the 2017 event around 21 August somewhere near the path of the total eclipse. 18, 19 and 20 August 2017 will be Friday to Sunday, perfect. The stars may not be aligned but the Earth, Sun and Moon will be!

Something near big accessable mountains toward the eastern end of the path, maybe Oregon or Idaho.
