HI All I am having a problem with my bluetooth and Iphone 4s. I got the phone 2 weeks ago and all was well and now all of the sudden when I turn the car on the toyota logo goes on the screen and it says phone connected then after one minute or so the screen goes back to the logo, shuts off for a split second and turns back on and so on and so on. I have a prius 2012 hybrid
Not sure how to fix that please help:mad::(:(

What model of 2012 do you have? I have a 2012 Prius Gen 3 model 2. My iPhone is also a 4s and have no connection troubles, but depending on the model you could have a completely different head unit to mine. Does the the screen do this if you don't have the phone connected? I'm sure someone here can help we just need a little more information.

I apologize in advance for sounding stupid but all I know is that my car is the prius 2012 not sure about gen or model. The screen does not do it if my phone is off. but once the phone is connected it goes from the radio to the toyota logo, shuts off and goes back on again and keeps doing it. very Frustrating.

The only problem I ever had with my iPhone connecting to the Prius system was when I had several different Bluetooth devices setup on the phone. When the Bluetooth was active it would always be looking for these other devices and it would cause breaks in the link to the Prius. It only caused breaks in the audio when I was trying to stream music on the phone through the Prius audio system. I had to remove the other Bluetooth connections from my phone leaving just the car. After that it worked fine. You might want to check how many Bluetooth devices the phone is looking for though, just to rule that out as a possible cause. If you have the Toyota Entune system then you have a different model from mine; also if you have the built in navigation, then you have a different model. I hope someone else has some other thoughts. All the other functions work?

Yes all the other functions work I do not have Entune and I don't have navigation either. The only thing paired to the car is my iphone. On the screen it shows up at iphone but on my iphone is shows bluetooth on and devices shows carmultimedia. There is no other devices listed under my phone or on the car
thank you so much for trying to help. I truly appreciated.

If you don’t have Entune or Nav, then you may have a model 2 like mine. The model 2 is the base model. There is a model 1 but that is for fleet vehicles only. Crazy question, have you restarted your phone since this problem has started? If not you might want to shut it down and then restart it. I have had my phone go flakey after it has gone a long time between restarts. Couple of other thoughts, if you know someone else with an iPhone, you might want to have them try syncing with your car system and see if they have same problem; if they do then the problem might be with the audio system in the car, if not then it would seem to point to your phone. Hopefully someone who has had the same problem will chime in and try to help. In the mean time we need to narrow it down to either the phone or the car system.

    Best to start from scratch.
    • Ensure your phone has the most up to date OS
    • Delete carmultimedia from the phone
    • Delete iPhone from car
    • Turn everything off and back on
    • Pair
