I think the best I could ever do is 550 miles

Latest tank went 510 miles (with estimated 6 miles left). Took 10.34 gallons, so I guess theoretically I could have made it ~580, but it's not worth the risk...I just fill when the range gets low.

47.3 mpg (by computer); little more than 1/4 tank fuel; approx 450 miles so far on this tank

You can select both (as indicated on the right of the photo) but the car will end up in only one mode at a time (EV,ECO, PWR) as shown on the HSI. Like when you are driving and the car goes into EV (less than 46 mph, throttle below the mid line, ect) the ECO indication goes away next to the HSI.

Another way to think of it is the right side shows what has been selected and acknowleged by the ECU. On the left, next to the HSI is what the car is actually doing. Does that make sense?

I don't think that's accurate. It is EV and Eco mode together - meaning it applies the Eco mode throttle mapping and HVAC modulation AND forces no ICE below 25MPH.

I like your explanation better. But, yes you can have both modes selected. I was trying to keep it simple but may have inadvertently confused it even more.

Above 25 mph, the EV mode selection (momentary push switch) cancels (single beep+flash of the mode selection on the right side). The EV next to HSI MAY remain above 25 mph as long as the specific parameters are met for EV below 46 mph or it's replace by ECO.

    Thank you both.
I went out at lunch and was able to have both modes lit at the same time.
I just didn't think this was possible. Sorry for taking the thread OT.

I wouldn't risk trying to get 500+ miles.

Just for safety reasons and reducing potential of moisture in tank, I refuel when I am have to 2 or 3 bars remaining on fuel gauge (Spring-Fall). In the Winter I refuel when I have 1/2 tank remaining on display. I typically travel anywhere from 60 miles to 124 miles per day. You never know when you might get stuck in traffic congestion. This winter I had a travel time of 1 to 1 ½ hours for a journey that under normal conditions takes 25-30 minutes about a 1/2 dozen times.

Understood, but living in Orange County, there are plenty of gas stations available. Computer says 43 miles left as far as the range. With today's commute, I have approx 490 miles on this tank.

Mine says 167 miles left with 382 on trip A. Averaging 54.0 mpg (ind) this tank. So, who is going to post the 550 tank? And Who is going to run out of gas? I should be there Thursday. Weather the next few days in the PNW 72*F.

I'd blame Toyota for the confusing UI - the ECO and EV next to the HSI are completely unrelated to the ECO and EV mode buttons. EV next to the HSI just tells you when the ICE isn't running, and the ECO there just tells you when you're driving (theoretically) economically by not accelerating too hard.

I regularly get 540+ from a tank. The car is currently telling me I am getting an ave of 59.0 over the past 5k miles. My daily commute is 148miles round trip, half B roads and half dual carriageway.

That's pretty impressive for a wagon. I'm assuming you have a Prius v Wagon....? Do you have a Fuelly profile?

True- the filler tube will account for the overage. It's a 2013 Prius v. I don't have the fuelly profile; not sure what it is..
