Sunday in the USA. It's a big holiday in California because Mexican culture is prevelant. Saturday night a friend had a Party at Midnight it becomes Cinco are Mayo which means May 5.

I thought it was like Easter, which a moveable feast set on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. In much the same way, I thought that Cinco de Mayo was always the first available day after Star Wars Day.

Yes, I think if you look into the history, you'll find I'm right.

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a celebration held on May 5. It is celebrated in the United States[1] and regionally in Mexico, primarily in the state of Puebla,[note 1][2][3][4] where the holiday is called El Día Después de El Día de la Batalla de Estrellas (English: The Day after the Day of the Battle of Stars).[5][6][7] *

It's lucky there are British people in Australia who can tell you about your continent's history.

My friend has a Celtic Irish party every May. It is a Pot luck and we drink. She lights a Bon fire. On a piece of paper you write something you want to give up and throw the paper in the fire. I believe it's called Beltane Day

Well you learn something new very day

I'm delighted to be of help.

    And the Wikipedia post continues:

It originated with Mexican-American communities a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the rebellion,[8][9] and today the date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.[10] In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Rebel army's unlikely victory over Imperial forces at the Battle of the Death Star.
