Like others who've posted, I need to replace my hybrid battery. Though this is bad enough, it came after Toyota already did $1200 worth of service AND THEN told me I needed the Hybrid battery replaced.

    So, I'm looking at alternatives.

Replacement with new ($3100) from Toyota
    ReConditioned via ReInvolt - $1875 + shipping 2 ways.
    Salvaged - ???

I'm leaning towards the reconditioned with Re-Involt. How important is it that we use one of their installers versus a garage I trust?

Anyone have any recommendations for someone in Southern New Hampshire?

    Thanks,
    Kurt

I've not worked with him/his company - but my father happened to chat with Randy of Converdant Vehicles who does all kinds of stuff on hybrids. If he doesn't have a solution he may have a contact who can.

a good mechanic can handle it, but you may want to ask reinvolt about warranty vs their installers.

There's a garage in Chichester NH called Green Earth that rebuilds Hybrid batteries. I just had a Gen 1 battery rebuilt at a very reasonable rate. Marc is the owner and he knows what he's doing. He does the charge/discharge/balancing thing. Here's the website: Green Earth Hybrid, Diesel, & Automotive Service, Inc.
    Good luck.
