What are the 5 small bulbs between the low beams and the parking lights and how do you get them to work? See attached picture.

They aren't bulbs. They seem to serve no other purpose than to make people think they're bulbs and question why they don't come on.

I saw a pic somewhere around here where people installed LEDs in those indentations and it looked pretty cool.

I've thought that maybe they were put to use in other countries, but haven't found any proof yet.

I wish Toyota would have put LEDs in there because like once a month someone asks this question! Lol

They are only there for aesthetics, they serve no function. I am not aware that even in other countries these ever lit up.

It's a test, if you are smart enough to notice them, and ask, you pass!:)

Ha, well I didn't even notice then until after I bought some LED strips to use as DRLs. I was like "where the hell did those come from?!"

AHAHA. i was just about to post pictures of the headlight too and ask the same question. Good thing I didn't, that would have been embarrassing. :cautious:

At first I assumed they were led lights that were just not plugged in until you paid toyota more cash. Is it possible to modify the headlights to put LEDs in there. It seems like that was Toyota's original plan, then just decided not to.

I think Toyota put them in there to mess with our heads.

I don't think so since the Gen II from 2006 on had them as well and they did not light up. It's just some aesthetic thing they apparently like to do, to mess with peoples heads lol.

And yes, I know at least one person on here did add LEDs in there but it is not 'easy' unless you take the headlight housings somewhere or know how to do it yourself.
