My 2012 Prius v has a moldy smell to the interior upon starting up every morning, now that it is getting warm in FL again. I had this problem last summer, but it went away, while I was on vacation in SC, and the car was parked outside, not in my garage. Does anyone have a solution for getting rid of the smell? My dealer does not have a solution.

put some ground coffee in the car overnight. that should absorb the odors.

When I had this problem in a previous car, after the dealer "cleaned" the heater coils the first time, I was told by my to occasionally run the heater on high for a few minutes after the car was fully warmed up. The high heat was supposed to kill off the mold and gunk growing on the coils. It seemed counterintuitive to do this when the weather was warm but it worked for me and I avoided the expense of taking the car in for service every year.

Thanks, I will try the high heat setting and see what it does. The Toyota 2 step evaporator cleaner looks interesting too, but at $20 a pop, I will try the heater first.
