I filled up today with 1100 km on this tank of petrol, for an average of 3.9L per 100km (about 60MPH US).

This is only the third time I've ever got 1100+ km (683+ miles) on a tank, though I usually get 1000+ km fairly easily. The Prius seems to really like the weather here this time of year. Everything pretty mild to warm, mostly low 20's C (low 70's F), no need for AC or heat either. Lovin' it

Average is not very high this tank. Pretty much all under 60 MPH this tank, with a fair bit of slow stuff down around 35-40 MPH.

Since it's starting to cool down here I assume the Northern Hemisphere is starting to warm about now. I suppose this is a good time of year from all of us to get some good MPG numbers. :)

Yes it is stating to warm here. We have had 5 days in the 20C and two days at 25C. However I woke up too about 1" of snow this AM. :( H

Well done! Still haven't cracked 1,000km (955km is the closest)

Great work, I notice I've been hitting record high too. It's such a great feeling.

I've been working at it and got 880km using 35.9L.
This week I was loading a computer and printer into a Jetta TDI and the owner asked how I liked my Prius. I told her I loved it and was starting to get some great fuel economy in this warmer weather. She said she gets 1000km a tank all the time. I asked how many gallons or litres of fuel it took. She said she can't remember. I looked it up and I think they have a 4 gallon bigger tank.

Yeah the Jedda TDI gets really good fuel economy for a "regular" car. However the range isn't a fair comparison as the Jedda has a 55L tank as opposed to the Prius 45L (and it uses a fuel with at least 15% higher energy density).

As good as the diesel Jetta is, it's still not as good as the Prius. Here are the "fuelly" results comparing the two.

Being outside North America (and so not having the tank bladder) gives me a big advantage in getting high tank mileage. My petrol gauge is fairly accurate and can comfortably use about 43 to 44L without it being too risky. That means that with even just a mundane 4.4L/100k (53.5 MPG) I can hit 1000 km per tank. :)

You make it sound so easy and ordinary, ho hum another 1000 km tank. With a bit more work I am going to get one.

I did it 1005km on a tank and could have gone more the last pip did not start flashing until 970km. The first stop on the pump was at 36L but I got 40.44L in total.

Getting 4.0L per 100km over a full tank is a pretty good achievement, it's about 59 MPG US. Nice work! :)

I've had the Prius for nearly four years now and until the tank in this thread (a few weeks ago) I'd never beaten 4.0L/100km over a full tank. I'd scored quite a few 4.1's and also some 4.0's, but never cracked the 3.x barrier. So it was really sweet when I was rolling up to the petrol station to fill up and it just ticked down from 4.0 to 3.9 literally as I coasted up to the pump. So it was really a bit of a fluke, but I chalked it up as a "win" anyway.

Congrats!!! The most I've ever done in the 2005 Prius is 902.0km (pic only shows 901km. Guess I reset the odo before MFD)
