    "Meep meep! Hey I belong on the road too!". I've read on the 2010+ forums about horn replacement. Looks easy enough.... Would it be different for a 2012 PiP? Who will be the first to do it and then post detailed "dummy" instructions with pics so "non-PhD" types like me could follow it?

    I replaced my horns 2 weeks after I got my car. I used it once while it was still "meep-meep" and knew I had to do it.

    I ordered the Fiaam horns that everyone suggested (in that thread) from Amazon. Sounds much more respectable. Total cost was about $21 and maybe 30 minutes of your time.

    I dont think the walk-through mentioned it, but save yourself the hassle and remove the hood latch. It'll free up a lot more room to get your hand in there to remove the emblem. Removing the front emblem makes it very easy to get your hand in there to replace the horns and plug them back in.

    Oh, also, use a magnetic tipped screwdriver if possible.. not totally necessary, but it'll make it easier to remove the screws from the back of the emblem

    i think i'll have to replace;

    just came across 2 buzzards feasting on a bygone squirrel in the middle of the road and they would not get out of the way despite the cute little horn meeping at them. was able to edge around the scene as they just did a couple of hops to get out of the way once the car was within a couple of feet.

    That horn just don't get no respect.

    Has anyone replaced the horns on a PiPA? The radar unit sits right behind the Toyota emblem that everyone talks about removing during the horn replacement.

    Last weekend I changed out the horns on the family's other Prius, a 2006. I installed the PIAA Sports Horns and they sound great. I'm considering putting the same pair (500Hz + 600 Hz) into the Plug-In.

    :confused:Don't see a problem with the horn on my 2012 Prius. I spend money on things I want, but not unnecessarily. Someone (?), somewhere (?), didn't like the sound of their Prius horn, complained, changed it, and has created a cult following. Or so it seems?
