Has anyone experienced blurriness after getting their windows tinted? I got 50% (very light tint) all around just a couple of weeks after getting my '06 and I find looking out the back rear window (the big one rear one) looks a little watery. The small rear window is untinted and remains fine. The tint shop told me to let the windows cure for a couple of weeks and it's been a month now and I'm thinking about having them take a look at it. Anybody else have this issue?

I had 20% on my 5 rear windows only + the bottom rear pane. Even though it's already shaded, it looks great.

The only concern I have is the defroster elements seem to reflect the headlights behind me now..

Have only had it for 4 days.. so I'll try and see if I can notice anything else.

The same thing happens on mine. I wouldn't call it a problem though, since it only happens at night. It's distortion of the film by the defrosting elements. I doubt there is anything they can do about it.

I haven't had mine done yet, but a lot of the time the problem was the type of film used as some cause problems with the GPS. This is with the '04 and '05, the problem may not be as bad with the '06.

Had my 06 tinted last friday. I have not noticed any blurriness in the back window. Considering the sun has been out most of the time since you had it tinted, I don't really think it would take a couple of weeks to cure, more like a couple of days. FYI, the film that was put on my Prius is call llumar. If your tint shop is of no help, I can recommend the guy who did mine. He offers ifetime guarantee on his work, and he is mobile in the OC area. A lot of guys at my work have used him, and there are no complaints.

Can you give me his contact information? How much per window?

One problem that ALL tints have (that I've seen) is looking through them at a really steep angle. And that rear glass is positioned so that looking out the rear window from the driver's seat will definitely be at a steep angle. You're forced to not just look through the thin film and adhesive - you're forced to look through much thicker film and adhesive because of the angle. This aspect of that rear window has concerned me quite a bit, actually - as I definitely plan to tint mine. I've found quite a spread of subjectivity on this... one tint job is *perfect* for some people, while the same job is unacceptable to others. I'm pretty damn picky, and fortunately have a fantastic local installer who makes me happy.

our installer was great, the tint is great, but the rear defroster elements cause some headlight reflection issues like someone said above. i got used to it, not a problem anymore.

When I picked up my Lexus GS400 after having it tinted by a reputable shop, I was told that the tint would look a little cloudy for a few days. I was worried. But I took their advice and parked the car in the sun each day for about 3 days. Sure enough, the windows cleared up. I'm sure the curing process has something to do with how warm and sunny the weather is. Be patient and try their advice, but if it doesn't clear up after following their directions, take it back.

I got it done at my dealer itself for 399$ and never had problems of this kind. They just told me not to rolldown the windows for next 2 days as they are still getting settled. Other than that I don't have any issues which you are having.

I have had no problems with my tint at all. I have very light tint on the windshield and state legal (35%?) everywhere else. No problems with blurring. I use my defoggers frequently and have seen no impact from that. Have had the tint for nearly 7 months now. Robw95, what brand of tint did you get?

i dont have tint at all on mine. and the rear window IS distorted. you will see this if you watch someone move from the center to the edge of the window. try it sometime.

now i only notice this thru the rear view mirror, but i doubt that its the mirror. i think its the angle of the glass more than anything

I got mine tinted yesterday w/ 35% (except for the lower part of the hatch). Saw some wavy distortions on the back window after I picked it up, but it is gone today. Installer told me to give it 5 days. If I saw any problems, to bring it back and he would take care of it.

That's very normal. Depending on how strong the sun is it takes a couple of days for the distortions to vanish. I've had over 20 cars tinted over the years and it's rare to have a defective piece of tint. Perhaps a tear or defect, but don't worry. You'll love the privacy. B)

I got the same brand of tint in 20% on all windows last August, and I have no complaints.
