    Congratulations!

I figured you would be the one to break the 600 mi barrier. I don't think my normal commute (no traffic-mostly all freeway) is conducive to getting to 600 miles. I need the afternoon rush hour to help me do it. Maybe next month...

Ha! be careful what you wish for ;) My 50 mile drive usually takes me around 1:20 minutes each morning and usually a little longer in the afternoon.

Just made 603.6 miles on a tank with our Prius v Three and 15k miles. I had 4 miles left on range when the low fuel light came on. Trip B is what I did after the light came on (58.3 miles) and filled the tank with 11.088 gallons, for a calculated 54.5 mpg (MFD showed 57.1). It is interesting to note that the gas station is 600' lower in elevation than where I reset trip B, so even relatively a rather small change in elevation appears that it can have a big impact on fuel economy. I filled that tank at the same station at the beginning and end of the tank. The driving was about 75% freeway and I try hard to keep the speed around 60-62 mph (65 posted) if I can do that without impeding traffic and I use the cruise control as much as possible. On other roads, I try to drive at 43 mph (when posted 45 or less) or below so the car can choose electric mode as much as possible. I always drive in Eco mode and I am light on the accelerator and use regenerative braking as much as possible. Not much else. As far as the car: stock tires 45 front/43 rear, Ecohitch, mud flaps, body side moldings, and no hubcaps. Weather was nearly perfect the last month with little rain. Temps usually in the mid 50's to high 70's, so usually just the fan with very little AC or heat.

I have the pictures as jpeg's, but can't figure out how to paste them in this post.

    Well Done!!

I may be joining the club around the 18th or 19th. So far on pace to 600 miles with 57-58 mpg on the way to work (against traffic) and 67-68 mpg on the way home in traffic. My commute is a 65 mi round trip (80% on I-5). The return home becomes about 10 miles of "city" driving on I-5 during afternoon rush hour.

We'll see if I make it.

That's quite impressive especially since you are dealing with a tough to fill bladder tank!

I think that they have a 600 mile club in the Gen 2 forum (don't they?). Just for fun, you should post it there and see where you rank.

    Congratulations, skwcrj!
Now,I am pushing myself very hard to join the 600mi club as the first Prius V owner who is driving in Canada. Hope to post my success here. I guess it will be accomplished by this week. Very exciting to get there!

If only I had the patience and time to do a 600 mile tank! I couldn't do it in my '10 Prius IV either. I just don't want to spend another 15 min each way on my commutes each day.

Going for it. 500 miles on tank so far w/approx 1/4 tank fuel on gauge. Might get there this weekend.

Really happy to join the 600 Mile Club!
I believe I am the 4th V in this chat room (and probably the 1st V living in Canada) to the 600 Mile Club.
    I just completed 1,016.2km (631.4miles) with 4.2L/100km (56mpg) couple hours ago (June 21, 2013). I drove 95.8km (59.5miles) with 3.8L/100km (61.9mpg) after a cruising range became zero.

During this interesting journey (June 4-21, 2013), I mostly drove my 'PringV' in a very short distance (Roughly 60% was about 9-10km in one-way, 30% was 5-6km, 5% was 3km, and 5% was >15km). I drove my V with 100% normal mode with factory-equipped tires (16" Michelin Energy Saver). Average morning temperature in Edmonton was about 11C (<52F) and average daytime temperature was about 19C (66F). I drove the V in EV status before reached the first 15-20km (9-12miles) as possible as I can, then softly accelerate until 60-62km. Once the V reached c. 60km, I tried to drive in EV status until the speed reached about 50-54km (31-34miles). I also frequently used cruise control (c. half of my driving). Since the low morning temperature severely decreases fuel economy due to the increasing time of engine warming-up, especially while driving in a short distance, I tried to drive the V without engine warming-up to save even little bit of oil. But, I drove quite slowly (<20km) during the first one minute. Another tip to the 600 miles with the V depends on how much you could fill up the tank in a gas station ;-)

    Nice work!!!
How many gallons (liters) did you finally put in? I see your gas gauge has no pips.
For those of us south of the border:

Avg indicated tank mpg was 56.0 mpg which comes out to about 53 mpg calculated(?).
631.4 miles/53 mpg = 11.9 g. Assuming you were able to squeeze another 0.75 gal (12.65g to start) after nozzle click when you started this 600 mi journey, you had around 0.75 gal left (or less) when you filled up(?). YIKES!!!!

Don't forget to post the details here:

    Thanks, skwcrj!
I just posted more detailed information in the regular Prius chat room. Hope you enjoy this!
Btw, I filled up the tank about 3.3L more (after nozzle click) when I started the journey!
So, basically your guess is right. :)

Well, my 600 mile tank wasn't an anomaly! Got another one this past week. Was surprised as the temp has been in the 90's most days and the A/C has to keep cranking away. Here's the details; Low Fuel came on at 16 mile range and 580 miles on the tank. 0 mile range was at 595. Last pip went dark at 598. I put 10.765 gallons back in at fuel up. I was disappointed since I had maintained a ~ 61mpg average up until around 540 miles. Then a bunch of short trips into town killed my average.

Nothing like a long distance trip to the mountains to bring you back down to reality! 1000+ miles round trip running at ~ 75mph resulted in around 40mpg all around. Yuck! And I've got another 500 mile round trip scheduled this weekend. My running avg on fuelly is going to plummet
