Prius v noise when not started

    I have had my 2013 Prius v for one month. I will occasionally go into my garage and the car will be making noise that sounds like humming. Does anyone know what this is and is it normal?

    Could be the battery fan.

    It shouldn't run when the car is turned off.

    If you have keys it might be what I was told were brakes doing something preparing to start. It makes a lot of odd noises.

    My understanding is it runs when the battery temperature commands it.
