Just stopped to fuel up my new 06 Pine Mica Pk8 Prius for the first time.
The auto-shut-off pump wouldn't let me fill up. It just kept shutting off.
I know I've read thisw in a previous thread months ago, but couldn't find it.
I'm guessing the bladder in the tank is creating back-pressure, which shuts off the pump.

    Any input is appreciated.

Try another pump? Maybe the pump you tried had a bit more pressure.

    Good response Galaxee!

You might also add some of the other bajillion or so previous threads which include splashback, overfill, megafill, etc. :)

It's winter, I'm only able to get about 9 gallons into the bladder instead of 11.

When you say that the pump "won't let you fill up," what do you mean? If you mean that the tank is near empty and it won't take any gas, then I'd agree that you may have a problem. If you mean that it takes some of gas, but not as much as you think it should, then I agree with others. Search on this forum to find lots and lots (and lots) of stuff about the fuel tank bladder, etc. . .

The short version of all of those posts is that you shouldn't be surprised if your tank only takes 8-9 gallons (total); that's the nature of the tank.

It also helps if you can put the nozzle on the slow notch and let it fill that way. (I hate it when they take the notches off the handles! ) Be careful, though. I've had some pump nozzles that didn't seem to shut off at all on the slow notch!! (I haven't had that problem with the Prius, though, so it might have been vehicle-related...)

There are some pump nozzles that just won't work in a Prius. I have found some very old ones that are much shorter than the newer ones that just keep shutting off.
