    Hi i was wondering if anyone has the Torklift Eco hitch on there regular Gen III Prius. I know there are hidden hitch and curt hitch, but i like the stealth look of the eco, but the price is about $100-150 more. Anyone here have the other brand and switch to the torklift eco or the other way around that didnt like the torklift. im in the market of putting a hitch for 2 bikes or cargo carrier. if you can post pictures to please. Thank you guys.

    I just don't understand the reasoning to hide it to that extend.

    I guess you'll also need to trim plastic panel as well?

    same concept, but it hides all the bars except the hitch itself.

    to make it look cleaner and there is no more trimming of panels, its also ground clearance. personal preference. i just wanted to see what others have in compared to this.

    In regards to trimming panel and ground clearance;

    From what I recall during during install, the lower panel seals off area behind bumper... the ECO hitch is hidden in this area, so for hitch receiver to be exposed, you would have to trim.

    About ground clearance, the lowest and further point is what risks scrapes, which is the receiver portion and not the cross member. So my take is the ECO hitch has no advantage there as receiver is in the same location. I'm keen to this as my car is lowered and I have a steep driveway. The cross member isn't the issue at all. I have a photos somewhere.

    Just saw the ECO hitch video. It looks like their hitch is wedged against the bumper and actually pushes it upward.

    Notes on the new version is no trimming of sheet metal. Does not note if plastic panels needs to be trimmed.

    I have the curt hitch and to me, it's an eye sore because of the paint. But it does the job. Drawtie may look better and others because they use a flat paint color. Here's the video of the torklift.

    I have this hitch, though it last year's version, requiring a slight trim. But a picture will have to wait until daylight and a day of travel.
    I don't think mine is anywhere near that low.

    If the bumper is the reference point, it can only be higher by 1" max. From what I saw in the video, the ECO hitch is acutually wedegd against the bumper so perhaps 1".

    If you're referring to clearance in that photo, that was to show even in a steep driveway, it clears. This is prior to Plus springs.

    OK. My TorkLift is pressed up against the bumper. Sitting on a level garage pad, unloaded, it has 9-3/4ths inches of ground clearance.

    That's weird, I have 10-3/16" between the ground and the lowest point on my Drawtite hitch. There's about a fingers width between the square bar of the hitch and the plastic panel above it. Do you have a 2" receiver?
