Anybody selling new Gen2 hitches with 2" receiver?
    All of them nowadays seem to be 1.25" except this company;
    Torklift Hitch

Thought of that, but it adds too much length. The 2" bike rack becomes a little unstable extending it out, not to mention greater chance of it bottoming out going up driveways etc.

Bad thing is even with their $100+ add on in cost the rated weight is no better. Probably due to the mount points. Looks really nice! It does however weight twice what the DrawTite shows. I wouldnt use an adapter because that is going to increase the leverage weight on an already low capacity.

Is this because of your current attachments? I had the same dilemma and just decided to sell it and get a new rack.

I would think the 2" receiver has less clearance as well.

For my current Bike Rack, I need a 2" reciever as well. I will be ordering from Coastal Tech.

**NOTE: As Toyota does not recommend towing by the Prius, Coastal Electronic Technologies intends the use of its' receiver hitches for bike racks and related accessories and not for towing.**

Thanks for the head's up, guess I will need to look for other options as well. The hitch in the link you provided looks fine, but is pretty expensive....

Got my 2" hitch from Quality S. Bought it on a recommendation from this forum because the center section unbolts with 4 bolts, leaving only 2 small brackets when the hitch isn't needed. It may be a little heavier and less attractive than other brands, but it's nice not to have it when I don't need it.

How long ago did you buy it?

Do you have a link to someone who currently sells them? I could not find any on the web actually for sale.

Agreed, but it's on and off in two minutes. I wouldn't drive around with it on.

Those clips are scary what thee can do to the paint. Good to ear you don't have it on for long periods.

Keep in mind when installing a trailer hitch that it can affect resale/trade-in value. Some people may not believe it was used just for a bike rack and can scare away potential buyers. Its a good idea to remove it before selling/trading. Plus you could probably recover some of your investment reselling the hitch on here or Craigslist.

What are these 2" ones worth used? I have one on my '04 that I do not expect to ever use and could probably be induced to remove, clean, and paint. Atlanta area, however. If this is an inappropriate section to offer it in, then please ignore all except my request for an estimate of value. Mine has a plug in it that says "Toyota". Surely this was not factory installed, however?

I previously removed one and sold it on Craigslist for $75. It took two weeks to sell.

Its snug on there. Never scratched it probably because it's rubber and it doesn't move once it's on there. I could mount it differently or use bungy cords but I secure the handle bars on the second row which keeps it from swinging.

I took a pic of the 2013 Yakima Holdup to show how secures on tires.

Good point about hitch possibly scraring buyer... but if remove and car is mark free.
