    Hello everyone.

I recently installed the DDM Tuning HID kit on my C4 head and fog lights. I'm having flickering issue when the car is not on, one of my light won't turn on. When the engine is on all of them are on. I've come to the conclusion that i need to install a relay for my HID kit.

The question i have is; where can i find the constant 12v power source under the hood since the battery is inside the car located under the passenger rear seat? Sorry I'm not very mechanically inclined nor electrically inclined. I also don't have a volt meter or know how to use one. So any help would greatly appreciate.

    Thanks

In the fuse box under the hood, u will see 2 empty spade terminals (each buy themselves). These are constant 12v

In the gen3 hatchback it looks like this:

Where you see the 2 red wires going to the terminals. Additionally, to the right of the heavy white wire I have a cover removed and you can see a bolt that is a 12V positive terminal as well that you can put a spade lug under.

Is this a common issue for HIDs in our Cs? I'm considering a set and would like to know prior to taking the dive.

Depends on the cheapness of the Ballast. I have no issue in either of my sets.

Ok, it's nice to have a bit of peace of mind. Seems like there are many DDM guys here. How's your experience with them? Are they quality products? Do they last (I know ztanos uses an eBay supplier, and he mentioned his ballasts have lasted for 8 years now)?

i have the same ddm 55w kit in my motorcycle. (well different kit then the prius but same company; makes sense? lol) and it is connected thru a harness. but it has been working for around 3 year and around 10k miles of hids being on. so you should be good. they also have lifetime warranty

I have 55w Ballast on my 2000 honda accord, have been using that over 5+ year and it is still going strong. Same goes for my motorcycle 55w ballast over 5+ year on that too.

Usually even the crappy ones work at least well when they are connected to the hot lead. They won't last as long, because they are crappy, but they will work.
