I'd to temporarily remove the badges on my 2012 Prius, is this possible? If so it possible to do so in my garage with not many tools? I've searched and I can only seem to find threads talking about removing the badges completely. I would just like to remove them to add plasti dip/ paint and re apply them. I removed the 2 larger toyota emblems on the front & back.

I found it much easier to plasti-dip in place. Search for one of the threads on this.

Generally the tools for removing them are fishing line, or a thin plastic card. Either way destroys the double-sided tape they are affixed with, so you will need replacement. Clean the residual with goo-gone or equivalent. When I de-badged, I ruined the HSD badge, so go carefully.

Well I noobed the dip on on the smaller badges because it got chilly at night and I guess it dried wierd so I peeled it off and now there's a lot of residue in the small areas.

Toothpicks worked for me to remove dip in crevices. I just rubbed off the stuff in open areas.

yaa, I tried that. See I only put like 2 coats on before I peeled it off so it's being very stubborn. I even tried re applying
4 more coats to see if it would grab the smalls that got left over :( so it kinda looks like bubba did a hack job on it lol. It was my first time doing it so I expected errors lol.

of course, it's the Blizzard Pearl, but it has a layer of radar absorbing material over it. Will be very stealthy, heck I could probably have even snuck it through Soviet radar defenses and made it to Moscow back in the day
    NO JOKE!

    Hi Brock,

Personally I plastidipped all of my emblems with the emblems still on the car and used some of the methods suggested above to get all the "unwanted" dip from crevices etc.

However, I have an article on my website about removing emblems here:

Remove Emblems - Quickly, Cleanly, and Painlessly! | CAR CARE FANATIC

You can then clean then up and dip them and re-apply them using adhesive. They sell rolls of double sided adhesive made for re-applying emblems at places like Home Depot or your local autoparts store. Cut up a bunch of lil squares and put them on the back of the emblems, make sure you line them up and press them on and they'll hold on just fine!

    Good luck!
