Just about to close the deal on my first Prius. Having trouble deciding between packages 3 and 6.

What exactly is VSC? Even the Prius brochure does not describe exactly what it does...other then the name Vehicle Stabilty Control...which is pretty self expanatory.

However I would like to know a little more about it.

    Thanks!

Yeah, it's "Vehicle Stability Control." Also known as "Electronic Stability Control." Google it and you'll get lots of hits. But first, here's the wikipedia article.

There is a lot of discussion and info over here in PriusOnline .
I liked the movie showing VSC in action, very convincing.

VSC... it is even more fun to use in real life than to view in movie!

I've tried, honestly, to get my prius to do a "donut" in several snowy, empty parking lots with no success.

The Prius just keeps going in a straight line while the VSC beeps and the dashboard alarm flashes. Very cool!
