Hi there; sorry if this is a noob question but we've just got our car this week and I was wondering if there was a way of playing my music library on my iphone through the car?

    It's a 2010 gen III.

    Cheers.

Connect your iPhone via bluetooth to play your music. Your car also has Auxiliary Audio input jack to connect your iPhone.

Hi there and thanks for the reply. The phone connects by bluetooth but I don't see anywhere to access the tracks. Tt's the T-Spirit, Gen III.

Unfortunately, your 2010 Prius III bluetooth can only be used for phone calls. You can still play music through the AUX jack but you will not be able to see the tracks from your car's entertainment system.

On the gen III with the upgraded touch screen you can play music through bluetooth. When in the audio menu press the album button and it should bring up your playlists etc. Your iphone can connect through the cars USB port also and have everything synced that way as well. If you choose auxillary, however, the operations to change music will have to be done on your phone which can be a driving hazard IMO.

If you want to know more about each option i suggest you do a little reading in the owners manual. It would give the best answers. Experiment on the different options in your driveway or somewhere parked and become familiar with what suites you best before you take to the road lol with all the cool features i find myself distracted at times haha!!

I hope you enjoy your new car! Welcome to Prius!!!

On my Prius (2012, four) I can play music from my iPhone or iPod using BT audio. Not sure your model.

I've noticed that when my iPhone syncs with the car as I turn it on (gen III with upgraded Nav), music from my library starts immediately playing. This only happens when the car audio remains on Bluetooth before the engine is turned off.

Any ideas how I can avoid this auto-play of my music?

The solution that allows Bluetooth connectivity is to purchase the Wifi tethering option from your cell carrier. About $30 a month. Then your Prius logs on to the iPhone seemlessly and automatically via Bluetooth. Your phone never leaves your pocket.

On your music or auidiobook library on the iPhone. You can go forward or back, next/previous tune/chapter with the arrow buttons on the dash but you to change playists or albums or books, you do need to do that manually on the iPhone.

It's been worth it to me and the phone as Wifi hotspot has worked well giving me secure internet access anywhere with the my iPad while traveling.
