    You are right. My grand mother had the mercury my mom had the ford. Both the same color. When my grandmother purchased hers, she had the salesman bring the ford and the mercury in the same color to her house. She chose the mercury because it had an analog clock in the dash, my mother ended up with the digital clock ford. They were the apex of American automotive might as far as I am concerned. Thousand of hours spent in the way back. Sigh...

    From what I've read you're better off not spraying anything on. If it's in an actual garage (dark, cool, dry) they'll probably last pretty well.
