My maintenance light is on outside of my oil change window. I have a 2012 prius 4 with less than 145** miles on it. Any idea on what could be wrong? Thank you very much! -Dan

The maintenance light comes on 5,000 miles after it was last reset. Was it last reset about 9400 miles? If so, it just did it's countdown and turned on. It's up to you and the dealer to know there is no oil change due at this maintenance light.

I run 46 front/44 rear. I think more people run 44/42 or 42/40 but I find 46/44 reasonably comfortable. One reasons for those pressures is that out of laziness I will can let them drop 3 or 4 psi before I top them off and still be at a good pressure for my purposes.

That is high reassure, you will get great MPG but chances are you tire wear out sooner and the drive will be bumpy. The suspension will also wear down quicker.

38/40 is what I use. But my mileage is not that great

If a little money won't hurt you, take it every 5k miles. If you want to save the 50 bucks or so for the 5k service, just take it in every 10k miles.

In our 2005 (Gen II) Prius, the Maintenance Due light blinks at 4,500 miles since last reset to warn you the 5,000 mile interval is around the corner. Then at 5,000 miles it stays on steady. Apparently, the 2013 (Gen III) Maintenance Due light does not blink at 500 miles prior? I am within 500 miles of the last reported service, and no blinking light yet. I already accomplished the oil service, but did not reset the service reminder light just to be able to see how it behaves. I expect to see it come on steady at 5,000 miles from last service.
