Just bought a 2008 Prius with 37k miles on it. Toyota certified as well. Pick it up Friday...very excited. Traded my 07 Hyundai sonata v6 that was getting 20mpg...

    So, few quick questions...

For men out there, did you get mixed responses over how people viewed the car? Getting hate from people saying it's a girly car. I'm laughing because it's also great mpg.

I live in Florida so all the flat roads should help with mpg, right?

I'm laughing all the way to the bank. Great mileage for a 5 year old car.

Welcome to the Prius addiction :D

How much did it cost? That is seriously low miles for an 08.

After my trade in (which was upside down :'() around 16k. Not sure if that's a good price but for low mileage and certified with warranty seemed good to me.

    Be Strong.

Is the Prius Masculine? | PriusChat

This concern or topic comes up way too much.

I can't really take it serious. The Prius is an efficient automobile with many plus's to ownership. For a vehicle in which haters like to play the "girly" card? Sure seems like we have a very very strong male contingent represented in Prius Chat.

That is amazingly low miles for a vehicle of that age. Good Luck and enjoy.

I noticed my when my friends got new or nearly new trucks guys would go out and look it over, high five each other, ooh and ahh over all the goodies and proclaim all the wonders of those gas/diesel guzzlers.

When I traded my Explorer for the Prius it was like....crickets!

It's not the car. It drives good, rides good, fun to drive, likely the most technologically advanced car on the road, and is saving me a ton of money on fuel costs. It's the cultural attitude of pro everything big, loud, powerful, and fast off the line to 60mph; and anti anything that questions or threatens that reality.

I'm very happy driving my Prius and getting 50 MPG, filling the tank for $25 while theirs costs $75-120 a fill-up. Embrace and enjoy the experience. You are on the cutting edge of technology and a slowly changing world view on transportation and oil consumption while enjoying daily cost savings.

Sounds like a decent deal with some of that upside down stacked on. Got you into a Prius and out of your old car ;) Prius retains it's value very well. Post some pictures :D

I am a guy in my mid 20's and got a 08 Prius about a month ago. I would imagine I wouldn't be a typical "Prius type". All my previous cars have been V8 cars or a V8 truck plus ride motorcycles.
I've only had a few people mention something about "why would you buy a Prius?" kind of stuff, but I am saving over $2200 in gas a year from my previous car, a Mustang GT at 13mpg. It was just time for change, time to save some money.

I am not one to really care what other people think anyways but for my own liking and taste I do have the black rims and did tint the windows to make it all blacked out, which I like.

It's all about being smart with your money these days. Owning a fuel efficient vehicle is smart.
