my name is John and I'm 20. I've been researching and studying up lots and lots on Prii. A friend of mine, Austin K (aka That_Prius_Car) has been very helpful with me learning about Prii and I want to get honest opinions if anyone initially regretted to or were initially afraid or nervous about getting a Prius. I'm currently looking at a 2010 Prius III with 30k miles, solar roof, jbl and navigation. It's running for $19,500. Is that a good deal? The body and interior is in great condition. Ive driven a similar model multiple times but never used one in the sense of daily life. Please help with your input. I currently own a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe with 240,000 miles. Dad was the original owner. Thank you for your time and input everyone and have a great day.
    Cantu :)

This was a message my friend John wanted me to post for you guys. Thanks for any input. :)

I haven't regretted purchasing my 2013 Prius Four for a second. As for whether or not you might be getting a good deal. I would suggest using KBB online, entering in the specifics about the car and your location and see what it says. That would probably be your best bet in determining whether you're getting a good deal or not.

i regret that the seat turned out to be uncomfortable for me, other than that I like the car and have no plans to get rid of it

Sounds like a great deal. Especially with the solar roof.

I never had any reservations, although I did spend a couple of months searching/researching, including spending quite a bit of time lurking here at PC.

I bought my 2010 for a little less money than you mentioned (had 27,500 mi.), but I didn't get the nav, solar roof, or JBL. I have/had only two things on my mind: reliability and good gas mileage.

The car is pretty much what I imagined it to be from my prior investigation. Easily averaging between 50-51 mpg since I got it.

That price seems decent for a 3 w/ solar. Tried solar roof in rental and seems a good thing in sunny weather. Couldn't get the power adjustable seat in 2010/11 which puts me off. Keep in mind the 6-way adjustable mechanical seat is another way of saying 60% adjustable because the power seat in 2012+ 4,5 is fully 10 way adjustable (8 + lumbar).

Mine is decent but I'd like to be a little more up and into the steering, but it's just not possible without the power seat.

The other problem is that I'd prefer the new 2012 body and tail lights. With the features of the model I stated but I can't nearly afford. Is it possible to switch the bumpers and taillights out? Thanks for your time and please ask your friends if they could provide their input please. Thanks again.

The thing with used cars are their value is tricky and really subjective. I too suggest looking at KBB. 30k is low mileage, and that is a $26k+ car when it was new. So $6k depreciation after 30k mi, is it worth it to u?

You're not gonna get the 2012+ with the same features for that price, neither is it financially practical to switch out unless u find a wreck part out which is unlikely.

I don't regret getting a Prius. I do miss the extra power and handling though and I came from a Civic. It was hardly a sporty car. I gladly accept that penalty to fill up every two weeks instead of every week.

I don't know if that is a good price for a 2010 three but if I were you, I'd get a brand new 2013 two for $21500 and get 0 % financing and 0 down. You still get the touchscreen. You'd just lose the 3 door sks. Backup camera and GPS are absolute garbage in my opinion.
