I'm thinking about painting my calipers...I have a blizzard pearl... I like the blue accents in the logos...so I was thinking maybe blue. I'll have the stock black wheels with chrome center cap for at least a year more... will this look silly? From a quick search I haven't found many color options, it was basically blue, red, yellow, black, maybe saw silver... Anyone have the stock wheels and painted calipers? Post a pic for me? Compared too all of the other Prius cars in my area, mine definitely stands out with just the removed hubcaps and dark tint, so that makes me happy, but I'd like to do some other minor things to make my car pop. (my driving alone definitely throws people off, I love power mode haha)

    Thanks!

I think the only mods worth doing, are the ones that make YOU happy.
Paint them blue, I bet it'll look sweet.

Sounds good, but whatever you do, carefully follow the directions on cleaning and prepping the calipers for your paint. It's a difficult area to work in so a lot of people take short cuts and later regret it when the paint starts falling off.

I've done minor mods on my old neon and my boyfriend has done all this to his legacy... We definitely know to do things right and take our time... Anyone know of any other color options? Variations of blue with any brand? Or is it just going to be a few choices of this type of paint. I know we need high heat, haven't checked if its caliber specific or just high heat in general...

Dupli-Color makes caliper paint kits and some pics below to give you some ideas:

I just ordered some Plasti Dip to do mine (Blaze Green). I'm not sure if it will hold up or not on the calipers, but I'm going to try.

PlastiDip isn't made for high heat applications, I didn't even want to put PD on my foglight housings. I can't imagine that they'd be able to withstand the heat of the brake calipers.

The Tire Rack kit seems to be the way to go. The only question, do I want red calipers on a red car, or contrast?
    Decisions, decision!

That's what I was afraid of, but I do try to do most of my braking with the regenerative braking system. I was hoping the friction brakes wouldn't be used too much, or heated too much with the limited use. I already ordered it, so I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

ive been debating painting my calipers as well in blue to match the blue accents on my prius. from what i gather most of the cheaper solutions (duplicolor and the tirerack kit) look great at first, but will flake off after some time. there was a kit for $100 somewhere that gets good reviews, but i cant seem to remember what it was.

ill post a link if i can find it.
