Does anyone know how to install this on a 2013 Prius? Where's the best place to install it? What panels do I need to remove? Thanks!

I was told you need to remove the rear trunk panel to access the third brake light wires. Please document your install! I have the same product just sitting in my toolbox waiting for an in depth DIY instruction. I'm a wiring noob and do not have any tools to test for the "hot" wire.

:) I installed the same module several months ago. You MUST remove the three plastic panels on the inside of the rear hatch. Start will the bottom one, pull at the corners to start working the tabs loose. One you get the bottom one off, the other two are easy. Don't bother removing the third brake light lens from the outside. Short harness and not enough room to mount the small module even if it was longer. The wiring harness is at the top of the inside hatch. Two wires to tap, not difficult. Once wired, secure the small module to the harness with electrical tape, and reinstall the three interior panels. I've have several third brake models. I like this one the best. One flash setting, so no need to find the best flash setting. Inexpensive, easy mod. Hopefully, it will prevent getting hit in the rear.

Would it be possible to take a picture of your end product? I have no means of testing for the hot wire so any pictures or tips from people who have installed this would be greatly appreciated! Do you happen to remember which colored wire is the hot wire?

:) Would love to help, but... I hate removing panels for fear of breaking tabs. Best to buy a cheap DC power tester, Wal*Mart, Advance, Auto, Auto Zone, etc. Just a few dollars. If I remember correctly, the hot wire was light gray, but test it first. Good luck.

Which product are you referencing Sir? I've searched and found several. I'd like to buy one that's tried and proven.

I used a flasher controller like the one above and even added another LEDS light at the top of the rear window, took about 30 min to do.
