Just purchased my Prius C yesterday. Never used a seat cover before, but I remember my parents seat covers looking pretty crappy back when I was a kid.

How involved of a process is it to put these fitted covers on? Do they look good? Do I really need to spend $200 to get a decent set?

    Thanks.

I got a $38 set on ebay that's compatible with the airbags, because crap is already getting ground into the black parts of the seats, dog hair inside the rear seatbelt areas, and spider mites have found their way into the car, which have already caused one red smear-blob on the light silver part of the passenger seat.

It includes front and back seat covers, plus headrest covers. Will report back on the quality, installation process, etc. with pics, once I get them in a week or two. They're coming from CA, so my guess is I'll have them by the end of next week.

Got them last Friday: imgur: the simple image sharer

1 week after ordering - not bad for an LA to Ohio trip. I spent about 45 minutes trying to put them on. Got the driver's seat cover and two headrest covers on, then realized I had the passenger's seat cover on the driver's seat. There's a difference because of the airbag seam/thread - it's clear plastic thread on the airbag side instead of black cotton. The airbag side of the cover is labeled "airbag" near shoulder level. I didn't pay enough attention to notice that, so it has to come off, but I'm hungry so that'll have to wait for another day.

There are elastic loops around the edges of the seat cover, and a bag of hooks with a loop on one end and a hook on the other. Hooking the elastic loops is a pain because of the tight under-seat space and because of the way things are arranged under there. I also tried putting the smaller of the two rear seat covers on. It's split 1/3 and 2/3 which is great for the back part of the seat, but the butt part is going to be a mess - it should be one uniform bench seat cover. And there's almost nowhere to hook the rear covers. There's an extra foot or so of fabric at the front of the seat because it's supposed to tuck under the bottom of the seat, but I can't get to that.

The directions do say to take the cushions themselves off, which seems unnecessary/impossible for the front but pretty helpful for the back. Anybody know how I'd go about doing that without permanently ripping the back seat apart?

To take off the rear cushions, remove the plastic panels underneath.

Then there is a clip on each side of the car holding on the fabric to the metal frame. Remove that by just prying it off with a flat head.

Once that is done, just find where the seat clips into the metal frame and pull up on it evenly. Two total, one on each side.

Shouldn't take more than 5-10 mins.

If possible, could you take some pictures after it's installed? Does it have slits or slots for the belt bucket (male end) to come through from the seat for the rear bench cover?

Just wanted to update everyone: there have been no updates. Busy trying to move. I'll try to get around to it in the next 2ish weeks. I'm not sure about holes for seatbelts in the back, but I'll remember to check. The rear covers are split 60/40, but the seat is one whole piece, so there's going to be an awkward seam on one side.

I thought the C2 had the 60/40 split?

It does. The problem is that the seat bottom isn't split, but the 40 and 60 parts of the covers are completely separate, so there'll be an open seam where the two covers meet on the bench part of the seat. The cover should've been one piece with a split on for the back section.

Boo, get husky or weathertech liners instead. Husky was cheaper for me when I ordered them months ago.

For seat covers I'd recommend fhgroup on amazon, they might not be made for our cars, but they come with only needing a few modifications, per the manufacture that way they fit nice and tight to any car. I got them for the Prius C and the Ford Edge and once on, you'd think they came that way when looking at the seat. I'll either dig up a photo or take one later if you want to see them, for some reason I ordered the split set instead of a solid for the rear so you'll notice it has zippers lol, but it's a great idea we use the split in the edge alot..

YESSS please. I would love to see pictures. The Car seat set I got from Unique Automotive Accessories on ebay.com is garbage.
    Let me clarify why:

    1. it doesn't have holes for the removable headrests to go back in after you put on the rear and front car seat covers.
    2. There are no holes for the seat belt (female end) to come through the cover for the rear bench. (i need the seat belts for the kids' car seats)
    3. They advertise it as semi-custom fit which is suppose to be a step up from universal fit, but it's clear that the set isn't made for a Prius C, let alone for any car that is a Subcompact. There isn't just a little extra material, there is A lot left. It's more of a full size sedan or truck seat cover set.
    4. The removable headrest covers are way too big and the elastics ties at the bottom only makes the bottom half "snuggier"
    5. This last one is more of a personal complaint but I think myself a fairly fit guy but even after two hours of work, I was only able to get the rear bench cover on. There is no place to hook the eslatic bands so I simply tied them off where I can which involved taking apart the bottom cover of the battery under the rear bench. Way too much work. in the hours it'll probably take to complete the entire install, I could had probably gotten a part time job, saved up money and brought a 600 dollar custom car seat cover in less time!

All in all, a waste of my 32 bucks. Real expensive car seat cover companies should give these out for free as advertisement to buy the real deal in the hundreds of dollars.

Added some pictures of what was done so far....funny thing is the pictures make them look 100 times better than they really are..lol

The ones I got came with head rest covers if you need them, you have to cut the holes for the head rest posts which the manufacture has a video install guide. I've had them on the prius for 4 months and 3 on the edge no tearing or stress tears at the cuts (which are hidden of course if guide is followed properly) I'll get some photos up sometime today, just finished doing a audio system and that rear install for speaker wire install was killer. I got the low end from fhgroup for the prius I'll get some of the edge which sit better, mainly due to the material I may order the better ones soon for the prius though.
