Ok so i installed the Philips DRL 8 , had too cut one support on the lower grill, each side of the plate. looks good and nice and snug. fed and zipped the wired to the right side and up to the right of the fuse box. attached the control module to the right side. attached the Blue wire to the fuse box, will attache the orange sensor wire to a positive of the low beam head lights. Just want final advice on attaching the Red and black wires. went to look at the pics but can see them on any of my PC or tablets.
    Thanks in advance.

Looks good, what fuse did you attach the blue wire to? Can you post a picture? And really the red and black is the easiest. For the 2007 model atleast its the red plus sign in the fuse box, then literally any metal bolt can be the ground.

Hopefully they are mounted level because, if anything, you want them level or at a slight angle upward for visibility. The pics make them look like they are pointing slightly downward.

On the Gen3 hatchback there are two open power terminals in the upper left corner of the engine compartment fuse box. All you need are terminals on the wire to connect to the open terminals in the fuse box.

Please repost pic of wiring once done... and of course pictures off completed project. Maybe you could even provide Youtube video with demo. Looking good. I think I like smaller 4 LED philips DRLs but I would need the auto dim to work. Is that posable? If not I may follow your instructions and get same DRL as you. The other idea I like is the DRLS made to go in toe covers on front bumper but don't know much about them. Seen a few pictures but have no idea how they work or where to get them. Be nice to find US supplier if they are any good.

Ok finally had time to finish and when i had no work to bug me it was quite easy. i took all the various post and a few similar you tube videos and here is what i did. we have red, black, orange and blue wires. the orange wire i clipped to the purple low beam headlight wire. blue i attached to a device that has a male fuse end with a fes is it and plug it in a empty slot i believe 2 or 3 beyond number 24, the black attached to a body screw and red i attached to the plus positive connection under the safety red flip device. powered on the car and lights worked, turned on headlights and they dimmed half.
do not have time today to take pics but till by end of weekend
this weekend will be putting in HID as well

That looks good. Could you send a close up picture? I have the same model of Prius and I am thinking of ordering the Philips unit to comply with canada DRL regulations (I imported my 07 from the US). I want to see how you fit them in. I cut out a paper box and it seemed like it was too large.

Did you run the wires to the back where the battery is or is there a place in the front where you can hook up the battery?

Oh here is my front fuse box.

The top right two red wired are starting from right red wire for hid low beam lights. Second in is red wire for fog lights. Farther down the red line are in line fuses.
In the center lower part next to yellow fuse is the blue DRL wire. This fuse spot, third empty after fuse 24 is the normal daytime running like spot. This spot allows the light to stay on even if the engine is off at a light. Under the 2 red wired the pink fuse is a empty fuse port that with my volt meter was 12 volts same as the + red covered battery place on far right of the fuse box.
Took me over the weekend to make sure all was ok and make sure all was zip ties pretty/ safety.

    I have the 4 version .
Have had them for a while, although wired different now.
Though about removing them but once in place in the backet it might be though prying them out.

Jay - I have a 2011 Prius and installed the Philips LED DRL 8s very similar to what you have-- my red positive is attached to the 12 volt blade where you have HID low beam lights. My black negative goes to the ground post on the other side of the ICE. The orange goes to either fuse 32 or 33 (High-beam fuses) - which dims the DRLs when the high beams are on. I did not connect the blue wire initially--and everything worked great. DRLs on all the time when hybrid system is on--and they dim when I go to high beam headlights. Lately, though, the DRLs have flickered periodically. Not a huge problem - but distracting and couldn't figure out what was going on. I contacted the Philips rep and he said I MUST connect the blue wire to keep this from happening--but I have been unable to determine where to put the "blue" wire (no documented ACC post in the fuse box) until I saw your post/picture. Your engine fuse box layout is the same as mine and I tried putting the blue wire into the third empty after fuse 24. But now the lights come on even though the hybrid system is off--and they stay on whether the system is on or off. Wondering if you experienced same and had any suggestions? Thanks for all your hard work on this! Brad Brown

Jay - one followup thought. I thought I saw in a thread somewhere that when you hook up everything (blue wire included) that you have to drive for a few miles so the control box "learns" the proper configuration. Has this been your experience? Thanks.

Nope been plug and play has been working great. Maybe the new box made for the prius/ hybrids is alot better. Also the orange who're has worked for the 8 DRL I attached to the low beams and it dims when it is on

ok got email back from Philips. this is a know issue and only solution is what i am doing do not charge for daily use and unplug fro fuse box if not going to use the car for a bit and want to trickle charge. you can just leave everything alone just the light might blink on and off every so ofter while connected to trickle charge, no damage will be cause to anything.

Can anyone help me with the blue wire connecting? I got Prius gen II 2007, I didn't see any ACC on the fuse. Connect the blue wire is just simply insert the blue cable in the right place? or I need go under the fuse box and so some connection?

    Thanks

Looking at your fuse box layout I see DRL middle fourth from left. In your fuse box pix, middle fourth from the bottom. You can get a add-a-fuse, do a Internet search, and attach it to the blue wire and then plug it in. That is what I did similar to on my III version

    Jay,
So basically, I just need to get a 7.5A (15A? 30A?) fuse attach with the blue wire on one pin of the fuse and insert in the DRL position?
    Thanks

Since the blue wire is just needed to detect when the Prius is "on", for the black box.
yes, that is exactly what I did based on instructions, going over the forums, YouTube clips and talking to Philips gentlemen via email
You do not need more than 10 I use a 7.5.
Since that fuse spot is made for DRL it should work good
