I say let it go to $6/gallon. I'll enjoy less vehicles on the road and hopefully those driving beasts will trade them in and get something smaller. I also would like Diesel to go to $8/gallon so that d*ck that smokes me almost daily on the way home gets raped at the pump. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah, smoke me now at $8/gallon. Waste your money A**hole!

    Apologies... I digress...

In Beaufort, on base, I pay $3.24-$3.34. If I get gas on base. Sunoco is ethanol free. So try to go there. But being able to $30-35 a month for gas is awesome. My lancer on the other hand is a different story. $40-$47 every week. With a 10 mile drive round trip, I'm thinking of getting a bicycle. Haha.

I actually never care what the price is, I can't really do any better. Unless I fill up a 5 gallon jug with ethanol free gas and have to pay cash inside, I never look at the price of filling my Prius.

I just record how many gallons I used for that tank and smile....................

That makes perfect sense if the pump prices are the same. In my area prices vary by about 5%, and between the different parts of the state I drive to the prices are 10 - 15% different.

One other advantage of knowing how much you pay is perhaps gaining motivation to use less through conservation measures:
    • Bicycle short routes
    • Public transport
    • Combining trips
    • Car pooling
In my case my car use to work is inflexible, but outside of that use I am pretty much down to 50 miles a week. I am not much of a shopper, but what I do is on the way home from work.
