Went out car shopping, just looking. We were already set on getting a hybrid since we already have a GenII Prius and a new Lexus RX450h. Prius C was the right size. 3rd dealership we went to had a white Prius C, package 4 and lots of various package 2's. We didn't want the 2 because the SKS system was the dealbreaker. We didn't want the 4 because the price was too high for things we don't care about. Salesman said he'd give us the 4 for the price of the 3.

Got the brand new 2013 C package 4 with 11 miles on the odometer (after our testdrive) for $23K. Total out the door with taxes, tags, fees, and everything else was $26K. The package 4 is fully loaded, not an option missing.

So now we are a 3 hybrid household. Once you go hybrid, you don't do back.

On the drives between the dealership and the 2 houses we have been getting 55mpg to 65mpg. Really impressed with the C. The nice colour LCD in the center upfront display and the touchscreen navigation is pretty cool.

great work 2k1! we are also 3 hybrid household (one is our daughter's who lives with us), 3HH? all the best!(y)

  4. The smart key system makes it so convenient, I used to have to dig out my keys every time I get in the car (and of course I'd be sitting on them already), and with the smart key sensor I can just lock the car by holding the handle.
    (y)
(Side question: Did you know out how to turn off the yellow flash when you lock it? I've looked all over the manual and the controls inside the car and am still lost.)

    what is yellow flash?

  6. So, when you lock (or unlock) the car, the yellow lights on the front of the c flash, twice if you unlock. I would prefer to not startle my neighbors, so I want to disable the yellow flash.

All Toyota and Lexus vehicles do this. It is nice to see the indication if you lock from inside and are just looking out a window.

  9. But how can I disable them, or just keep them turned off, so they don't flash when I lock/unlock? With my SUV, I could do that. I've tried all sorts of general internet searches and I can't even find a discussion of this.

(Not trying to pick on you or anything, I just figured I'd ask someone who has way more experience than I have. :notworthy: )

sorry, can't say that i've ever seen a thread on it. you may be the first, which would require finding the circuit wire and adding a switch.

I can't remember if the procedure was user changeable or dealer only changeable. Either way your dealer should know. It can be turned off though.

It's dealer customisable. Check page 516 (Sec 6-2) for other features you'd might want customised at the same time so you only have to go to the dealer once.
