    Hello everyone

We are moving to Arizona (Tucson) soon from Hawaii and we have been saving up to buy a Prius used. I have been looking at craigslist, dealer websites and ebay. Just overwhelmed by the choices and information. We are looking at 2010 model but not sure what package is worth considering. Also what source is better to buy from? Our budget is about 15k.

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

III adds stereo with bluetooth, available solar roof
IV adds 3-door smartkey, fancy seats.
For $15k you're getting a II unless you're buying high mileage or salvage.
I'd stick with the II unless you get lucky with a III with solar.

Or go for a 2009. Driving speed? Terrain?

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. What would be a good price for III or IV. May be its better to wait and buy them rather than II. Most of the driving will be in town and the roads are not that hilly in Tucson.

In town drivig in a hot climate would really mean you're often better off spendingyour koney on a 2009. VYou'll grt more for your money.and if you're a sensible driver you could well get better mileagewith the Gen 2's smaller engine.

The Gen 3 improved higher-speed highway mileage and reduced warn-up, as well as int4oducing the solar roof option, but if you're not getting the solar roof andyou're buying used it doesn't seem worth looking at a Gen 3.

Sorry about typos, written on a tableton a moving bus.

I'm not really sure on the prices, but a quick search turned upa lot of cars withchighrr prices than 15k. Used prices are relatively high generally, and for fuel-efficient cars in particular.

I am looking at a 2011 Prius 2 to buy from a private sale posted here. The vehicle has 51k miles and the seller is asking 18K obo. Just wondering if this is a good price and what I should be looking into as a first time prius buyer. My apology to the seller if this is offensive, but I felt I should seek some help here before buying something. Sorry, I can't post the link as I have zero likes :(

    Thank you
