    Hey guys!

I just ordered my Gray 2013 Prius C 4 yesterday! I have 4-7 weeks until it comes in.

The salesman mentioned an interior and exterior protection package. It is done through a company called VS2000. I was told it was a coating that is reapplied every 5 years. It prevents paint chips, fading, rust, etc. as well as scratches, stains, etc. on the interior. It has a lifetime guarantee and was told that if anything happens they will repair or replace the fabric or paint.

The original price was $1999 he said he would do $898 because I drove over an hour to go to their dealership, and I talked him down to $698. I haven't made a final decision yet, and would love any opinions or suggestions.

He says that he swears by it, I know his goal is to sell it. I just don't know what to do! I can't find much on the company or package, maybe I haven't looked hard enough yet!

    Please help!

Please tell him No!!!!!!! I worked at a Honda Mazda dealership in S.C. for a few years this was the biggest scam we did. The guy basically comes out and scotch guards the interior and washes and waxes the exterior. Charges us about $200 and we charge the customer close to $1000. Really its just a wash and wax!!! Nothing amazing about this stuff. Its not going to do some miracle job of protecting you car like a knight in full armor deflecting away the sun's rays. Seriously think about this for a minute. How can a layer or chemical that you spray on the car that just runs off (like water)protect the cars paint from a rock traveling at whatever speed your going??? Its still going to chip the paint. When I say wax its not like the wax in a can that you apply with your hands and elbow greese. Its a spray on wax!
Total garbage, just a way for the dealership to make money. To all those who purchased this when I was working there... Thanks for putting food on my table!!!!!!!
Just a side note. Another way we made money was off the extended warranty! One case I remember we sold a old woman a Honda Civic Lx. Nothing fancy just A/C and cruise. We charged her $2,100 for the extended warranty. Same year 2004 I purchased a Acura TL fully loaded with Navigation sunroof, everything. Since they know I worked at a dealership and couldnt jack up the price I paid $1,400 for my warranty on a car that has twice the stuff in it and cost twice as much as her Civic.

Fat Chance!:ROFLMAO: I dont know about your dealership but we would have just claimed neglect and told you No! I know this because I have done it many times.

Thank you for your honesty! What products would you recommend then to help protect the interior and exterior myself? Also, would you suggest getting the extended warranty or not? Want to know what I'm doing before I go in to pick up my car!

Just scotch guard the interior and wax your car at least twice a year. Meguiars makes some great stuff.
As far as the warranty I am overseas now and not sure as to what all the extended part covers or for how long. I have seen on this forum that most people elect not to get the extended warranty! There is a lot of things to think of on that. How long are you going to keep this car? I know most people say there going to keep one for ever but most people only keep a new car in the U.S. for 6 years. I am sure there are some threads on here about extended warranties. I would do a search and see what they say.

there are better ways to spend this kind of money take a love one on a weekend trip. It don't work and if you have a problem it will be from your neglect . Just say no.
