Should I trade in my 07 touring for a C?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here and would really appreciate some advice :) . I want a new Prius, as my 07 has 120,000 miles on it now and I drive 80 miles per day. I really do not want the huge car payment and noticed that the C is so cheap, my car payment could be pretty low. I currently have an 07 touring edition and it has been the best car ever. I have a couple questions regarding the lower priced model.

Is it really much smaller than the standard Prius? Is cargo space much different?

Will the ride be as smooth as my old touring edition? (I have neck issues)

Is there any solid reason to go for one of the pricier models? I live in California and the heated seats, fog lamps, heated mirrors would not matter to me. Honestly, I never really used the navigation system. I am more concerned with the fact that I spend a lot of time in my car and want a comfy ride.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Test drive the car and see for yourself on comfort. Maybe you can rent one for the day

Yes it is much smaller. Cargo space is much smaller. It is comfortable and the passenger compartment is actually quite roomy, similar to the hatchback. The ride is smooth. The touring GenII is actually less comfortable than the normal GenII and I find the C similar to the normal GenII.

I don't know why you would want to downgrade if you love the 2007. Remember that when you switch vehicles you will take a huge hit on depreciation. They buy your trade at wholesale. Then you are paying sales tax on a $25K vehicle which would probably be around $2K in California plus tags which is another couple hundred.

Switching to a new car to save money on payments is rarely ever a good deal. If you want the C, then do it. But not for any other reason.

120,000 miles is just getting started... Why get a new car if you don't need to... that will save the most money.

Thanks so much for your responses. I tried to rent a C yesterday from the dealership while my car was being serviced, but they where out. Maybe next time!

I think you guys talked me out of the trade in for now. I also saw the new body for 2015 and thought maybe I should wait a couple years...is it for real???

    Artistic rendering, a educated guess.

Waiting another 15 months or so for the Gen 4 is wise

Don't place too much hope on an artistic rendering. Only time will tell.
