    Hello all,
Just installed my new electronic shifter for my 2013 Prius Persona. This shifter should be in all the Prius vehicles. Makes so much more sense, and looks much better than the clunky shifter. They have different color options, I purchased the carbon Fiber with electric blue lights. Also makes it so much easier to get to the Park button and EV buttons. Highly recommend this upgrade. It took me all of 12 minutes to install.

While nice looking, I personally disagree that it should come as stock or makes more sense for the simple reason that you can't shift intuitively under duress in an emergency situation. That's why I got the JDM piano black shift knob.

Guess it's a matter of personal preference. Again in response to your emergency situation, it actually shifts faster into drive and reverse than the shifter knob. I already know exactly button is for what as it has the indentations, so your fingers can feel where the buttons are. But again, it's all in the individuals preference.

    I think it looks good.

The Prius "dongle"...whatever that thing is...is somewhat embarrassing. It's not a REAL shifter...there is something oddly disturbing about it.

Do the actual D, N, R, B letters light up?

Yes, in darkness the letters do light up, makes it really easy to see.

Two things I want, that I'm just too lazy to sit down and order. Push Button shifter and a Shark Fin Antenna.

Someday I've got to do it.

Don't dispute any of above. My point of contention is in an emergency situation you may not have time first to place your hand there for muscle memory then push the appropriate button, potentially leading to basically the finger version of the widely-reported "pedal confusion" as in the case of unintended acceleration.

Nevertheless, I enjoy checking out the various electronic shifters on other members' cars. It would be boring as hell if everyone had the same mod.

I have the JDM shift knob, which is enlarged (about 3X larger than stock). The stock shifter now looks laughably small now that I'm used to the bigger one, but Toyota made it the current size because otherwise it'd block the EV button from the driver's point of view (as the JDM shift knob does).

Wow, I think that looks great.

The larger size, makes it look "legitimate".- Less like an automotive bris has happened.

    How/Where did you order that?

Since it's JDM isn't the decal on the top actually the "wrong" side? In other words, R,N,D is on the right side, instead of the left side?

I think I'd like it if the layout wasn't presented as a JDM right side presentation.

LOL at automotive bris. Yes, it's the other handedness because it's a JDM shifter, just like the JDM electronic shifters before they became available with our shift pattern.

Got it from the ebayer zeroism702

There's a cheaper version through Nigel in smooth leather for just $40 but its build quality isn't as good (made by a different manufacturer/factory). Unfortunately, this factory no longer makes the perforated leather so if you want perforated your only choice is the $99 version above.

See Aluminum pedal set from Ultimate Pedals | PriusChat Just let them know you would like to use my custom footrest template and you won't be charged the $25. There's, however, an additional $10 charge for adding the flange. If you order the set as is, it'll come without the flange on the footrest.

Just screw off and screw on, possibly the easiest mod you can do.
