I changed myb cabin air filter today and found a mess of fibers and carpet bits. The filter was filled, the area was filled. It was like stuffing from some insulation was in the filter. has anybody seen anything like that?

I have only found their droppings and "nest" material in my friends prius before. We changed his filter and there wasn't any more signs of them. The biggest threat would be to your wiring. Good luck!

Great. The car isn't very old. We have a cat who hangs out in the garage. There were also nut shells so you're probably right.

How old is the car? The dealership will change that for you, if you have less than 25k miles, when the service is due. But then again, plenty of people change them early.
