I just picked up our first prius for $3200. It was a fantastic deal with a lot of circumstances surrounding the price. 300,000 miles, original battery, and filthy dirty with rock chips and some dents. This was a VT messenger delivery vehicle. We cleaned the interior, and did a major make over on the exterior and it's a very fine car now, especially for the price. Replaced the spark plugs, #2 coil, and got a killer deal on tires - New Conti Eco LRR for $356 installed. I get about 51 mpg average if I stay out of the mountains. So far we are really satisfied and we've still got a LOT to learn about this rig. I've learned loads of info from this site already so I decided to sign up. Glad to be here.

I would say so, though there is no proof. The delivery service purchased the vehicle with 101000 miles on it and they drove it until where it is now at 290,000 miles. I can't imagine a battery being replaced before 100,000 miles and have the owner sell so soon. The delivery company didn't think the battery had been replaced either.

The only thing I can think is that because it was a delivery vehicle with people driving it that didn't care about fuel economy and didn't pay for their own fuel. It was a messenger service that prides themselves on speedy delivery. Therefore, they probably used a heavy throttle foot and the battery was likely lightly used, compared to the engine. That's just a guess.

I was under the impression that under heavy acceleration the battery is used significantly. Either way, it's impressive!

Tires: I'm not sure about the 3 or 5. The exact tires are these Continental ProContact with EcoPlus Technology

Call your walmart and ask if they price match - they will say yes. Ask also if they would price match to "tire rack". If they say yes, thank them and ask for that person's name. When you go in, you take the print out and the name of the person that said yes. ;)

That is by far the cheapest way to get these tires. Even buying from tire rack requires $60 in shipping, which walmart will gladly cover since they have a truck full of tires coming anyway. I hate walmart, but sometimes you just can't help yourself.
