What do you like about the enTune? Is there something you really think it is useful for?

I use it to listen to Pandora. The funny thing is, I never used Pandora before buying the car. Now I do most times I drive. I have found it useful to read out my text messages while driving on occasion. I haven't tried to reply yet.

I think what I liked best about Entune was deleting it from my phone.

Like to use Pandora, weather radar, Bing(not the best like google but helps a lot and better than having no search engine) and works for the most part. Entune really works well with my S3 with no problems running jelly bean. As always, no specific electronics is always perfect.

I use it quite a bit for weather, but that's it. I find it frustrating that I have to re-run Entune quite often or I get the "no internet connection" error. But things seem to run well on my Galaxy S4, and it doesn't take up any space at all, so what the heck.

I use it mostly for weather, especially on trips. Pandora only when I am bored with the 130+ XM stations. (not very often). As for Stocks and Opentable are of low value with my daily use. As for sports scores, I can pull them up on my phone faster than the car can if I did not have access already to XM live sports broadcast.

I really don't see why entune is not just a android platform open for development of other apps. It could be so much more and a better interface than is currently available. In the year I have had it, there has never been any OTA update. Nor any great new announcements on their home page.

My 2012 Prius V still has the 1.8.4 version, no update from any of my dealership visits. I did see in the other Prius C forum that a 2.2 patch was put out via TSB earlier this year. I don't know if that is just a Prius C version of entune update though or not. I will have to ask on the next oil change at the dealership.

So far I think he entune thing is complete garbage. It doesn't always connect right away as some times I have to relaunch the app. My phone apps are way better then entune. Weather, gasbuddy (shows a map to where all stations are and prices on the map), pandora... all the apps on my phone are better than entune from what I've seen so far. I'm just wondering if anyone has any uses for entune that are actually better than what a phone provides.
In fact I wish I could turn off the fact that plugging in my iphone automatically makes music play from the phone from the default phone app. I'd like to be able to choose the source of music on the phone instead of fighting the car from selecting the default music app. I listen to audio books through the Audible.com app, and I have to fight the car to listen to it. Sometimes the car plays my audible.com, sometime it switches back to music, and sometime the car plays both the book and the music at the same time. I'd also just rather play my pandora from my phone than use entune. (2/10 toyota for your usb port functions and -2/10 for you support for them, so 0/10 total).

There seems to have more problems with iphone than the android phones from what I have read here in this forum.

I love using Pandora and Bing. I've had to use bing in unfamiliar areas, and voice features work great to select and map it out. I also like to use I heart radio too for some favorite stations I have. Entune works great with galaxy note 2 and android 4.1.2.

If you are using an iPhone, you do not need to have the entune app installed at all. Simply setup tethering via bluetooth Internet connection, and everything works. No need to run entune on the iPhone at all. The owners manual is completely wrong on the set up.

well everyone love their phone, its unlock and user get to choose what Apps they want installed.

In automotive its get complicated, manufacturers worry about getting sue in a accident constantly in USA.
in CA its a Big NO-NO, but phone makers are not liable today. Don't go touching your phone doing a thumbs up or down in CA. "I will not text while driving pledge" should apply to any use on the phone while driving.

Toyota | Toyota Introduces Updated Next Generation Entune® Audio on 2014 Tundra

I like that Toyota has figured out a planned failure and corrected it before it surfaced.....

Got my 2012 booked at dealership tomorrow to get my Entune upgrade from the 1.8.4 that my Prius V came with July 2012 to the current 2.2. Free upgrade.

    I got the upgrade today.
Very simple. I did not even have to fill out paperwork to have them work on it. The guy checking me in asked what I was there for and when I told him he disappeared into the managers office and came back out with a USB memory stick with a large Toyota Tag on it. I could see something about Entune and 2.2 alone with a bunch of other Toyota numbers and ids. He simply turned the car on, inserted the USB once the app screen of Entune was up. It popped up on the screen that he could do a upgrade from 1.8.4 to version 2.2 and did he want to continue (yes or no). Answered yes and it loaded 8 files in about 3 minutes, rebooted and version 2.2 was installed. No obvious changes to the interface that I have seen yet. No Facebook app or Yelp but that might be coming with yet another new update too.
Overall, painless and took less than 5 minutes. Cost = nothing.

Here is the thread that describes what 2.2 fixes....

Entune is a silly piece of software that barely works. Even after the update, it still forgets Bluetooth assignments for specific devices, Entune still doesn't work with iPhone 5 over Bluetooth, & the interface is slow and buggy.

So what do I like about it, the fact the I don't have to waste time with it.

I wonder if it's an iphone issue, since I've never had a problem running blue tooth with my Galaxy Note 2 and Android 4.1.2. Entune has been rock solid and 100% reliable with my phone and android since I bought my car in May 2013.

Yes I was told when I purchased the vehicle that there is a known issue with Entune and iPhone and that Toyota was working on a fix. I got Entune updated last week to 2.2 from 1.8 and these issues are still valid. I'm hoping when Toyota releases the next software update that these issues are fixed. Only time will tell.
